I don’t know that I can agree with that 100%. If the statement were true, on it’s own accord, wouldn’t that also imply the reverse is true? If a man says “all women want is money” does that mean he’s good for nothing other then providing money?
I would agree that she makes that statement realizing that the man see’s no value in her other then sex, but that doesn’t mean she believes she has nothing to offer by sex. At the same time, a golddigger can definitely see no value in men other than money, but that does not mean the man in question thinks that’s his only value.
I don’t know that there is anything particularly wrong with being interested in only sex or money. The issue comes when you try to pretend otherwise, or when you presume providing sex will return money (or vice versa) when no agreed upon arraignment has been made in advance. Then again, a person can’t be responsible for whatever assumption is made about what another person is interested in them for.
The reality is though, women use the phrase “all men want is sex” in to giving them something other then sex, or in addition to. She wants you to do something with her, spend money on her, to do something she wants. She never really wants to you to accept money from her, for you to ask her to clean up or do some cooking. She doesn’t want you to be the person you go to when you need a favor. Nope, she’s only trying to up the cost of having sex. The conversation made me think of other contracts and relationships that are out there. My employment contract is essentially based on an exchange of money for my labor. Perfectly legit. Anything I buy, whether material or service, is the same thing, and perfectly legit.
Any relationship with friends has is different. It rarely is about an exchange of money, goods, or services. It’s about mutual entertainment, and that works for the most part.
But a relationship with a woman, we’re told, needs to be different. You pay with no guarantees of return on investment. You’re even asked to make an 18 year + commitment based on the possibility of return. And your correct that it was not always that way.
A marriage really was more similar to what a parent child relationship is. A parent has an obligation to provide for the child and the child has an obligation of obedience. “Obedience” sounds like such an awful word to expect from a word, but again, what exactly are you offering besides sex, which you aren’t guaranteeing anyway?
