Absolutely fascinating, amazing, incredible, intelligent ability, and I’m running out of adjectives. I’m referring to the men who create these masterpieces. Utmost respect for those men. The tiny mechanical detailed machine complexity is awe inspiring.

Watched the video i don’t think Watchmaking will ever be in danger, if the Quartz revolution in Japan did not kill the Automatic/mechanical watches i don’t think cellphones or other technologies will, because Mechanical watches can survive a nuclear winter while Quartz would get fried by the frequencies of an EMP or the Heat waves of a nuclear explosion would melt the battery inside.

I see watchmaking becoming a luxury though, the rich don’t mind spending millions of dollars on watches every year, specially if they are made in precious metals and stones.

Agreed. I just hope that the lower-end guys don’t someday quit making affordable mechanical movements (my Seiko 5 isn’t the best timekeeper in the world, but I still get a lot of enjoyment from it. My Vostok is even worse, but it’s consistent from one day to the next, and I’m going to regulate it when I get around to it). My radio-controlled G-Shock is always absolutely dead-on when compared to the official US time, but it just doesn’t bring me the same sort of enjoyment that a mechanical watch provides.

This is the reason why I love buying watches with mechanical movements. Yes, they are cheap Chinese parts, but I am glad that I don’t care to much if I damage them.

I do own ONE great watch, but I keep it tucked away for days that I want to just feel better. It’s not that expensive, it’s Just a Geneva, but I like watching the see thru glass and the movement working.

It’s hard owning the better things in life, when your own life is in such miserable shambles. Hopefully, I may one day own some of these fine timepieces one day.

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home
