Finding yourself vs. creating yourself. The hero truly creates himself.

(This is an hour-long podcast. I found a link to it on Viva la Manosphere! < http://vivalamanosphere.com/ >.)

Here’s an 11 minute explanation of the original book. (The Joseph Campbell book The Hero’s Journey is one of my all time favorite reads.)

If someone talks about “finding” their self, the first thing I think of is “well, where you when you had it last.” The self is not something you can lose or find. It’s not like your car keys. There is no way to misplace it.

    The hero truly creates himself.

If I follow your advice, then in a sense you would be creating me.

I tend to lean towards the way the ancient Greeks view things.

You can control a lot of the small things.  But at some point their is a fate.

Free will and Fate do not contradict each other.  They are two separate things that can exist at the same time in different respects.
