I’d note that in general 5.56 can fire .223 but not vice versa. .308 should be able to fire 7.62×51 but not vice versa. Same deal with 357magnum and .38 special.

I like to match pistols with long guns that have same mags/ammo. Example: Ruger 10/22 Take down Rifle paired with Ruger 10/22 Charger pistol. Glock 17 9mm paired with a Keltec Sub 2000 folding carbine taking same mags. Beretta 92FS (9mm) paired with a Keltec Sub 2000 taking same Beretta mags, etc. Sub 2000’s also come in 40S&W. (Must be careful to get one with the right mags, because some have different versions in same cal that take a different mag)

Stag Arms AR15’s, M+M AK47’s (has quadrails). In 308, DPMS LR-308 and FNH SCAR-17S. For bolt-action, the affordable Savage Arms Axis II .308. (I’m snarked at Remington & their history with the trigger issues on the Rem700)

Standard optics Aimpoint PRO (long battery life, reliable) paired with (flip to side) Vortex VMT-3T magnifier to form a hybrid sight. (.308 optics are Nikon M-308 BDC 800m sight)

For SHTF, I thought a revolver would be good, so S&W Model 686 .357 magnum.

Super-reliable 9mm non-folding carbine such as Hi-Point 995TS carbine (I didn’t bother with the pistols)

I’m glad I recently took some silver instead of cash for payment.

I’m buying chemicals and supplies before the shelves go empty like any socialist regime. I just finished replacing a good amount of rubber (tires for everything), converted every light to LED (less strain on the generator lower fuel consumption and lower power bill). Garden is planted too.

The liberal states have torn the wheels off their own economies leaving countless abandoned properties in their wake. If you live anywhere in the liberal rust-belt you know the sights and scenes of extreme blight and infrastructure collapse. Rust bleeds from everything and no funds to fix it, too many properties abandoned and creating a sea of municipal red ink.
