I bathe in the tears of single moms.
The only way to fight a bad guy with a hate is a good guy with a “like.”
This is the impression left by the words on Wednesday of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.
As the Guardian reports, Sandberg was at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, when she made some observations about fighting Isis and similarly dangerous groups.
She gave the example of a neo-Nazi party’s Facebook page. She described how people with good hearts went onto the page and offered positivity — a “like-attack,” as she called it — rather than the destructive hate speech.
“The best thing to speak against recruitment by Isis are the voices of people who were recruited by Isis, understand what the true experience is, have escaped and have come back to tell the truth,” she said. “Counter-speech to the speech that is perpetuating hate we think by far is the best answer.”
Clearly, Sandberg’s intentions are good. However, even the perception that something as inconsequential as a “like-attack” can truly have a deep effect might trouble some.
Terrorist activity on social networks is a problem that’s finally being officially recognized by tech companies. However, there seems to be little agreement between the tech world and the government about what should be done.
Tech CEOs claim to be guarding their privacy rules — though some seem more flexible about those than others. Apple CEO Tim Cook, for example, has been a staunch opponent of a so-called backdoor that the government could use to snoop on certain activity.
Earlier this month, executives from Apple, Microsoft and, indeed, Facebook met with government officials to discuss further action that might be taken.
I suspect that action may be clandestine. It’s not as if either the government or tech companies are likely to announce that, yes indeed, they’re taking more aggressive online action against Isis.
It’s not as if ISIS is entirely overt either about which Facebook accounts are promulgators of its cause.
In November, a Facebook spokesman told Wired: “There is no place for terrorists on Facebook. We work aggressively to ensure that we do not have terrorists or terror groups using the site, and we also remove any content that praises or supports terrorism.”
They’re there, though. Which is why the mere idea of a “like-attack” might seem painfully inconsequential.
Positive words might help the status of relationships. When it comes to terrorist groups, rather more aggressive and covert means might be called for.

And it’s not a joke.

There is a well known connection between heavy use of social media and mental illness. That delusional woman just might be one example.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
I cant even begin to understand the logic of this stupid c~~~.
Against die hard terrorists we should post “positive words” on facebook? This is just another f~~~ed up thought of a feminist, lets talk about our feelings and stuff.
This is why western civilization is in the toilet.
Remember, kids. If you like the picture of starving africans, then they won’t be starving any longer! Jesus, this is the worst of both worlds. You get to have that holier than thou mentality, without actually having to do anything. Holy s~~~, these people are so self indulgent . I wonder if they truly are that stupid, or if they are just lazy as f~~~
Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.
I am sticking with “Mentally Ill” on this one.

i was going to “like ” this thread but i’m not even sure what that means anymore after seeing the “strategy ” to combat isis.i guess killing them because they’re terrorists isn’t going to do it …let’s LIKE them ! what a f~~~ing rocket scientist !
These people have become so crazy and so lazy to the point where they think that likes on Facebook or tweets on Twitter will end racism, sexism, world hunger and any other third-world problem existing today.
These people don’t care about developing countries. They don’t give a f~~~. From celebrities to the lowest of the low, they don’t care. These egotistical, narcissistic assholes act like they care when they actually don’t. That p~~~es me off.
And this, gentlemen, is why men rule the world.
Anonymous24Uh, Jews LOVE ISIS, not just like… ISIS is attacking Syria, Israel wants this… In fact, didn’t the U.S. drop them 50 tons of weapons right after Russia got involved??? The whole thing is a joke. U.S. destroys countries that Israel wants destroyed based on lies, Israel is never attacked, nor do they take in refugees, they just ask for more money from the U.S. and more military actions in the region. The radicals that rise in these now destroyed countries go on to attack MORE countries that Israel wants attacked??? lol If you guys don’t know what is going on by now, you never will.
Meanwhile, while we’re “liking” on Facebook, this is happening:

Lovely people, eh? No respect for anything or anyone. That’s why their homeland is hell on earth.
If you guys don’t know what is going on by now, you never will.

It is the same as my christian speach I made a couple of times already.
Being a jew on paper doesnt make you a jew.

Dont blame the jews for your own sake.BIBLE!
Message to the Church in Philadelphia
8’I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie– I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you. 10Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.…The good way to fight ISIS is to launch catapults loaded with pork butts at them
carpet bomb them with bacon stripsproud carrier of the 'why?' chromosome
Uh, Jews
This is what the NT says, Joe+everyone
Romans 2: 28-29
28 A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.
I recommend sending Justin Trudeau and his cabinet to hand out parkas and hug them into submission.
If only for the entertainment value. There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it
You want to defeat ISIS ?
Really ? Are you sure? Are you really, really sure its what you want?
I mean, if you fund them, give them weapons, fund the Saudis who fund them; fund the Turks, who fund them; oppose the Russians who are fighting them, oppose the legitimate Syrian government who is fighting them, do you really want to defeat them ?I do not believe you do.
But should you change your minds, cut off the funding; there are already Russians, Syrians (and Chinese in limited form) who are already working on that. Just join them, or simply don’t oppose their efforts in that region, and problem solved. Its that easy.
