I wanted to rant a bit here about the newest Star Wars film as none of my friends seems to get why I hated it so much. I’m going to break this down in the 4 biggest things that drove me nuts. If any of you are Star Wars fans and don’t want spoilers, now’s your chance to get out.

    A) The main baddie, Kylo Ren, is a total bitch. Seriously, they were trying to make him out to be the next Vader, a hardcore bad ass but, just as the prequels made Anakin a whiny little bitch, Kylo Ren was revealed to be a wimpy and annoying child who reacts in immaturely when things don’t go his way.

    B) To try and solidify Kylo Ren as a bad guy, they kill off Han Solo, which p~~~es me off because Kylo Ren is still a bitch of a character and because Han was the only MGTOW-esque character. It seems like the more the gynocracy turns out s~~~ films and entertainment media, the more they get rid of characters like Han Solo because he doesn’t fit the narrative.

    C) The entire movie is just a more expensive, cheaply told version of Episode 4. The First Order is the Empire, the Resistance is the Rebellion, Jakku is Tatooine, the Starkiller Station is the Deathstar, Poe is Han, Rey is Luke, Finn is Leia, BB-8 is R2D2, Kylo Ren is Darth Vader, Snoke is the Emperor…I could go on. It’s pretty much the EXACT SAME MOVIE. And what further grinds my gears is that multiple attempts to “reboot” franchises that did this same thing were torn to shreds by critics, but because the main character is a woman and her sidekicks are non-white males and STAR WARS is in the title, it’s somehow immune to critique, apparently.

    D) Speaking of the main character, Rey is a total Mary Sue: She has no flaws, she can pilot and magically fix everything in the Millennium Falcon, beat Kylo Ren in a lightsaber duel, mind trick a guard within hours of learning about the Force and the Jedi, is offered a job as Second Mate of the Millennium Falcon by Han Solo after ONE flight…there is literally no character growth throughout the film.

So, if you were planning on going to see it, save yourself the trip and re-watch Episode 4. F~~~ Disney, f~~~ JJ Abrams and his p~~~-poor fan-fiction of a film, and f~~~ the gynocentric masses pumping millions into the system.

Honestly, they lost me at Disney and J.J. Abrams, I am totally convinced that anything that either of those two entities touches turns to crap.

Yeah, I’m not going to argue there. I will say, though, that Winter Soldier was awesome. That’s pretty much the only thing I can think of that Disney has had a hand in that I liked.

I know this is going to happen, so i don’t bother watch.

    A good decision for me.

So, if you were planning on going to see it, save yourself the trip and re-watch Episode 4. F~~~ Disney, f~~~ JJ Abrams and his p~~~-poor fan-fiction of a film, and f~~~ the gynocentric masses pumping millions into the system.

Episode 4 don’t have that, and that’s better.

That’s why i will not become a fanatics.
When a fanatics see that something is wrong, they will still embrace it because their logic is clouded.

I saw the movie this weekend and I too had many of the same issues that you outlined above. I can’t say that I was as disappointed overall as you appear to be but the similarity to episode IV was the major point of grief for me personally. I also was VERY upset that they killed off Han Solo.

One thing to keep in mind is that the movie is very much a product of its time and right now we all know how messed up the gender and race relations are in our society. To give it a historical perspective – movies made during WWII very much had a particular “feel” with adds for war bonds and all manner of themes related to the war effort. Follow the path of history forward and we see that the effects of societal evolution are always on prominent display within the popular movies. The Vietnam war error had its anti-American feel and the first wave of feminism had its substantial influence on the movies of its day. So here we are today and its no surprise to see the “hot” button topics you discussed above bleeding all over the movie screen.

But have faith my friend! If you stick around long enough you will get to see a backlash that will be more to your liking on the big screen. Third wave feminism today keeps piling up more and more bitter fuel and, make no mistake, there will be a backlash. When that backlash comes, I fully expect to see a movement like MGTOW being the ones poised to strike the first match. And a Star Wars movie (yet to be made) may just be the first to push the new set of societal norms that arise from the resulting ashes.

Yeah, everyone I’ve talked to has told me I’m too upset, haha. I guess I wouldn’t be so attached, but geek culture means a lot to me. I was in a pretty dark place about 3-4 years ago and I was seriously contemplating suicide. TV, films, and comics, along with lifting weights, were pretty much the only things that kept me with going through with it until I learned to help myself emotionally. They hold a special place in my heart and it does bother me that Church of the Holy Vagina, obsessed with making women appear flawless and the single most important commodity in the world, has pretty much gone out of its way to ruin it. But you’re right: The backlash will be amazing.

And that is what ruins female characters.

Some of my favorite series have female leads as the main characters. But, the female characters had flaws, they had goals, and they had dreams. But, they were not invincible, and barring the super-powered female characters, the female characters were shown for their physical weaknesses in being about to be pinned down by a man, and not good in a physical fight, unless the woman was a trained fighter and the man in question was not trained.

But, by the same token, I respected how guns could be used as equalizers in a fight, allowing women to have a legitimate chance of victory in a gunfight. As long as said women were trained on how to use guns.

I have not seen it yet, but I can say this: I am tired of being force fed politically correct propaganda just because I go to see a movie. I have sworn off going to theaters because I don’t want Hollywood to get my dollars. (There are other reasons in addition.) A friend of mine, a fellow MGTOW, calls Hollywood “gangsters.”

It will be out on DVD soon enough. I will rent it from RedBox really cheap and watch it in the comfort of my home (my snack bar is far better). This is true of everything I want to see. If I want to add it to my collection, I can find a used one in a year or two.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

The last Star Wars was Return of the Jedi for me. Everything with Disney I won’t touch, and see it as toxic. Well, Disney’s attempt to kill Star Wars will fail, because in time thing will correct itself, and Star Wars: Awakening of the Farce will be forgotten.

I would like to see the movie for Rey’s vision at the end the film. From what I understand something is off about that, but from a mystery standpoint. Though, I need to see it before I comment further.

Also, they have two movies to fix Rey’s “instant expert” and attitude problems. And one way to savage this is for Luke to school her that she think she’s good, but she now has him as a teacher. The humor and plot practically writes itself for those scenes.

You are not alone in this, my friend.

I didn’t liked the movie too, and some people who I play SWTOR along said that much.

We, the hardcore fans, we all saw the s~~~ that The Force Awakens is, and we are p~~~ed off about it, but the main people who Disney makes movies and s~~~ for, are hyped as f~~~ with the Episode VII.

We hope that soon the s~~~ will start to dry and stop stink, so the SW universe will be back to normal, or that Disney decides that they will sell the EU to anyone who pays more, and probably we will have at least some of our favorite universe back.

But, don’t hope that the Holy Vagina Church will not keep throwing some tools on the gears to stop that from happening, because the Feminist Termite has not YET consumed all of it’s oxigen, but soon it will. The Femstapo is yet too much active, too much on the clear and still have too many supporters, so it will be a little longer for them to fall.

There’s another thread on this and I just posted this there. Adding it here too.

    ••••••

What happens when girls and women join the line ups of “nerds” and “geeks” and “losers” at the Star Wars conventions and the opening of EP8??. Are talk shows and all of society going to MOCK THEM TOO and tell them they are fans because “they can’t get laid” and “never had sex” ???

“Look at those losers, failures and geek women in the line up dressed as Rey, Leia and Captain Phasma because they can’t get laid and they never had sex. “.

    Can’t wait to see it.

    ••••••••

That’s the extreme hypocrisy in all of this. Women who are now “YAY!!! STAR WARS!!! GO REY!!!” are now as equally pathetic as the men who liked Star Wars for the last 40 years. Nice going ladies. You’re a “loser” now too.

    ••••••••

Where’s Triumph the wonder dog now? Is Conan going to be shaming women on TV in the same way for being a “loser” because she’s a “modern empowered woman unfettered by the antiquated gender roles of a bygone era”? Interesting times ahead.

ylo Ren was revealed to be a wimpy and annoying child who reacts in immaturely when things don’t go his way.

The entire movie is just a more expensive, cheaply told version of Episode 4.

My very first thought right after they got attacked by the raptor-thingy monsters, and throughout the rest of the film. They even brought Porkins back, or a guy that looks just like him. Porkins.

    Jakku is Tatooine,

Up until you said that, I had assumed that Jakku was a district on Tatooine. Seriously – it’s a different planet?

is offered a job as Second Mate of the Millennium Falcon by Han Solo after ONE flight…

    No it’s worse than that.

The “strong” female character now occupies the roles formerly shared by Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Yoda – combined. She’s taken over management of the Falcon, is the only available “master” of the force besides the bad guy, and apparently can self-teach the use of the force in exactly same manner as the Jedi. Why bother with those pesky temples and training places – you can learn to be a Jedi in correspondence school. But only if you’re a girl because vagina.

I put “strong” in quotes above because even though she’s strong and capable and better-than-all-things-with-a-penis, sometimes she still needs a hug. Meanwhile the male characters apparently need no emotional support whatsoever as they should just man up and head off happily to their death.

The ONLY thing I like about this movie was that it was at times an almost shot for shot remake of the original. It was nice to see Han back in action hover briefly.

The part about the antagonist being a whiny bitch is spot on, but what do you expect – they’re just playing to the audience.

Don’t be so sure – again consider the audience and how they’ve been conditioned all their life. I know blue pill comicon geeks in their twenties who will undoubtedly think this is the greatest ever. Their beefalo fiancee/girlfriend told them so.

@roydal: Save yourself the $1.5o and rent something else. Seriously, that’s how low I recommend this film. That’s two hours of my life I’m never going to get back.
@faust: EXACTLY. I have no problem with female leads, honestly. It’s just when the makers of the film never make her sacrifice anything and make her pretty much flawless that it’s a problem because it steals from the story. At the end of the day, it’s just about story to me and so when I see lazy jackasses trying to pass off fan-fiction and p~~~-poor writing as a legitimate story, and especially capitalizing on women’s desire to seem perfect and the best at everything always, it grinds my gears.
@keymaster: No, probably not because just as only men can be sexists and rapists and only white people can be racists, only male geeks be basement-dwelling, loser, virgins that need to get a life, don’t you know?

…but, you know…the patriarchy hurts men, too!
@biggvs_dickvs: Yeah, Jakku is apparently another planet. I didn’t think it could be district until you suggested it, but the way they referred to it, I just assumed it was a planet. Searched Wookieepedia (the Star Wars wiki); turns out it IS it’s own planet, so…even more laziness.

Any of you out there who really hankering for some good Star Wars material, instead of wasting the time and money on Episode VII, I wanted to share an alternate imagining of Episodes I-III on Youtube that finally wrapped up and was, in my mind, FAR superior to the actual films. It’s kind of a long watch (the one on Episode III alone is like 24 minutes), it was an amazing story well told by a REAL Star Wars fan. I hope you guys dig it as much as I do:
    Episode 1
    Episode 2
    Episode 3

My mangina friend, whom I’ve mentioned occasionally, went to see this movie and when I asked him how it was that the main character (I didn’t even reference her gender) was able to control the force, use a light saber, read minds and repair and fly the Falcon, among other things, with zero training when it took Luke two entire movies to master even the basics,

BPM: “Because the force is awesome!”

    ME: “What?!”

BPM: “Well if there’s only one person using it, it all focuses on them and they get all the power.”

ME: “So when Luke was training, who aside from him was using the force?”

    BPM: <changes topic> “BB8 was a female droid.”

There is no way anyone is going to question this stuff. We are in the full throes of a girl power orgasm that shows no sign of stopping.

@Doc- Yeah, my (now) very liberal-leaning friend offered up a similar explanation, that with Sidious and Vader dead, balance has been restored to the Force so it’s been “fixed” in a sense whereas it was “fractured” before due to it being used in the Sith-Jedi wars, Clone Wars, etc.

I call f~~~ing bulls~~~ because if that’s so, why is Kylo Ren still a bitch? You could argue over the throwaway line of “Well, his training isn’t complete!” but then you run into the fact that if Rey could teach herself, why couldn’t Kylo Ren? In the end, it’s a f~~~ing circle-jerk and the movie sucks because it wasn’t born out of passion, but out of a desire for more cold, hard cash. In the end, it’s all hollow.
