The Monetization of MGTOW

I should start off by saying this thought and my opinion is unfounded. I’ve conducted no research. However, I AM going on gut instinct. All things being eventual, this subject is no exception.

I wanted to get everyone’s opinion as to the monetization of MGTOW. As I notice an upward swing in both the trend, as well as searches in for the title MGTOW, I can’t help but to think that eventually someone is going to try and make a dollar or two off the subject. The problem I see with this is that, essentially, one would  aim to make a fortune off or other mens misery.

With that in mind; There is also the argument that it will gain no ground or footing if it does become a ‘Known Issue’. Reason behind this is, once MGTOW becomes mainstream, questions regarding it’s purpose will be asked. And once this happens, many of the fundamental issues at it’s core will also come to light. Issues such as Alimony, child support, Female Privilege, Rape Culture, and a plethora of other injustices will come to light. And I think when that happens, one side (and we all know which that is) will have more to lose, and thus will aim to try to draw attention from the true issues of a broken system.

So I guess my question is two-fold. Will the monetization of MGTOW see the light of day, and if it does, will the inherent issues at the foundation of the cause, be forcefully shoved into proverbial darkness?

I think of mgtow … as a far off planet. People on earth can ask all the questions of the planet they want …. but the planet just sits there … giving nothing away.

Let people try and find out about mgtow …. try and label it. We just will continue going our own way.

Good Question Kizell,

1) It can gain popularity through it’s inherent criticism. As it is, in such a fashion, a big middle finger to traditionalism. And thus it has the ability to draw in individuals (especially youth) with a rebellious mind-set lacking in fundamental understanding or experience inherent to most men that choose that lifestyle.

2) Misinformation regarding it’s origins and purpose spread could make it the “next big thing” or “cool thing to be”. (Note:  There are already individuals present on YouTube who take donations as a means to give their opinion)

4) Next thing is clothing, accessories, talk shows, tv shows.. you name it. Anything outlet that the mass media utilizes to draw individuals in and deprive them of their hard earned money.

Vague? Absolutely. But as I stated, this isn’t founded on much research, just gut instinct. Furthermore, when you think about it,MGTOW in and of itself is a far more sound and focused principal then say MRA or VFM. It is both formless and grounded in a Fact and Logic that can be hardly have a blind eye turned to it after long. Hell, it’s only an unfounded opinion or assumption, but anything is possible and everything is negotiable. And if you think it’s far fetched, try going back a few hundred years ago and telling people the earth wasn’t flat..

There is already some douchbag on youtube doing this. He is a white knight claiming to be MGTOW. When I criticize Alexandra Blue for the crap she said xpalodoc, not sure if that’s the correct spelling. He strong white knighted her. He does interviews with people and it p~~~es me off but people are too blind. Eventually people will see how really is. Also he made s~~~ up against another mgtow with no proof it was clearly lies.

That is exactly what I’m getting at. If it goes mainstream, then eventually it will become this diluted pop-culture type thing. Complete with song and dance. And ultimately I wonder what that means for everyone that has put their heart and soul into making it what it is now.

“Miss Piggy” over at AVfM tried to do exactly that. It caused long time members of his organization to defect. Some denounced him publicly. As far as I know the now famous Miss Piggy video is still around on YouTube.

I see the potential monitization of MGTOW as both good and bad.

Good:
It’s finally mainstream. Maybe women will finally check their attitudes at the door and start behaving like reasonable people now they know that men don’t have to bow to them.

Bad:
The LGBT culture has also gone mainstream and it went first forcing a “culture of tolerance” on the world that has been backed by feminazis and blue-pillers. Frankly, tolerance can’t be enforced: you either get it or you don’t. It’s going to be a rough road: they are more experienced at getting attention that we are. Also someone may try to copyright the concept of MGTOW which would suck for the rest of us. Copyright trolls are horrible.

Good:
Now that we’re in the open, we can explain ourselves and seek to be understood. Understanding breeds acceptance which, in turn, will breed more MGTOW.

Bad:
Chances are they’ll demonize us as worse than the KKK initially. The media loves to blow things out of proportions as sensational stuff gets a lot more attention than reasonable things. Reefer madness, anyone? Also, the loudest, least-understanding fringe MGTOWS will end up as sound bites that will be used to back up the “years of prejudice against women/minorities” concept (even though that concept is really outdated and has flipped recently).

Good:
With some money coming in, there could be a non-profit group that helps men with legal struggles and encourages the education of young men. Any young women added (and you know the law will make them be included) would be educated to not be entitled brood bitches.

Bad:
Yeah… “sex” is a protected characteristic in the USA. You can’t kick out women from a group due to them having vaginas. Transmen would also have to be included on the same grounds as they are legally, chemically, and mentally men. Limiting who gets help would be a series of tricky questions that could be gamed. The group could be sued if it’s too obvious that women aren’t welcome.

And yes, the song and dance thing happens to any subculture that goes mainstream. Punk in the 80’s. Grunge and Goth in the 90’s. Hippies in the 70’s. Nerds right now. It’s the price you have to pay to go mainstream. Anyone remember when “nerd” was an insult and people were scared of goths/punks? All of the above groups are accepted now. Everything has it’s season.

I absolutely agree with you 1000% Stealthy. You will get no argument or resistance there. I will however, point to the other recent thread “What are you doing…”

That there is a prime example of the Monitzation of MGTOW while simultaneously demonizing it by the mass media. Funny thing is, I actually started this thread before even reading the previous one. The proof of concept then, is self evident.
