Hey guys, i dont know if ive mentioned it in previous posts, but i have a few nagging health issues. I am not looking for sympathy or anything, there are definitely brothers here that are in extremely bad shape, and i by no means feel entitled to the level of support they get and need. My question though, is this: how the f~~~ do you find a family doctor (or any doctor, for that matter) that seems to give a f~~~? I am in Canada, close to a major city, and i have finally landed a male family doctor (ask any Canuck, health care, despite being “free” here, moves terribly slow and is overburdened). I had my first appt with him today, and i am already underwhelmed. He basically said “lets wait for the specialist appt that you have in 2 months and we will go from there”. He literally didnt lay a finger on me. No blood pressure, no stethoscope to check lungs and breathing, etc. I waited 4 months to get an appt with this guy and already i feel like he doesnt give a s~~~. Im at the point with the various issues i have that i am ready to pay to go to a private clinic. There is only one close to me, with mixed reviews, and when i spoke with them on the phone multiple times, they literally sounded like the stoner behind the counter at 711…like they didnt give a flying f~~~. Yet they want 500 bucks to do the test i am waiting for. Guys, what should i do? I could go across the line to a US clinic, and hopefully i would get some f~~~ing help from people that possibly might treat me like something other than cattle. Anyone here have any experience at all with private clinics? I know in the US that you pay for most everything out of pocket, so let me ask, do the good clinics get you results and treat you like a human being? And get you an appointment within a reasonable timeframe?

I can recommend any of the eastern arts for improved health.

Western medicine in my experience often treats symptoms. The old saying prevention is better than cure is good, but how do we fortify our bodies?

Diet is big, so choose good foods. Also drink primarily water. Next your body is a living thing, don’t just leave it idling all day, take it for a drive – movement is key!

Gym, hobbies, hiking and recreation are all good ways to get the body moving, but I have found as far as deep healing, activities such as the martial arts (hard or soft), and yoga promote healthy change to the body. And finally don’t talk to all your western mates about your eastern arts all the time cause for some reason they like to ride you on it.

The U.S. medical establishment has quotas for women. Rather than being based on performance, that is.
    Do the logic.

"It seems like there's times a body gets struck down so low, there ain't a power on earth that can ever bring him up again. Seems like something inside dies so he don't even want to get up again. But he does."

Firstly I’m no doctor but if this can help you then thats good for you.
I don’t take any form of prescription drugs. Havent had any bad ailments in several years.
My health has been way down for several months after some c~~~ f~~~ed up my situation. but i had my own way of getting around it.
-I drink juice on a regular basis. buy some fruits, get a mixer and have it with nothing else. just the resulting fruit liquid.
-Drink lots of water. 4litres or more a day does it for me.
-I dont take sugar. just once or twice a month which i do reluctantly
-Exercise is the most important. I try to do it in the form of sports cos when someone else is involved it gets fun.
    – spices like turmeric, cardamom , coriander are good for the glandular system and the immune system. i use them in my curries.
    – Squeeze a lemon into a cup of warm water and drink it right after you wake up. Good for your liver and kidneys if you drink alcohol.
I know this is not what you asked but I’m from a place where 2and a half generations ago there were plenty of local healers and theyd get the job done without prescription drugs and doctors. There are just a handful left and theyre hard to come by as they live in rural areas and its becoming a lost art. jaundice, asthma
common fever, aids( they sting patients with honeybee), broken bones, dysentry, ulcers etc. theyd cure it( not sure about the aids though).
i dont take Prescription drugs and i dont plan on doing that.

Start by learning and complying with the “Laws of Health”
    1. Eat a healthy [mostly plant-based] diet. If you do eat meat, keep it minimal and salmon, & “kosher” meats.
    2. Drink plenty of water.
    3. EXERCISE. 30-40 minutes of aerobic/cardio exercise along with strength training 4-6 days/week. This one is critical. The research is overwhelming supporting exercise for brain/heart/lung/endocrine/musculo-skeletal health.
    4. Get outside. Fresh air/sunshine/commune in Nature.
    5. Good sleep. 7-8 hours of sleep/night.
    6. Meditate on a loving “Higher Power”. Studies have shown that 15 min/day of meditation on a God of Love improve memory, and down regulate our stress circuitry in the brain. **Meditation on an angry/vengeful/arbitrary God have the opposite effect.**
    7. Give. Volunteer — your time/money/skill set — to those who are in a worse position than yourself.
