The Horror that is Nursing

Today I went to the doctor for a checkup. As per usual, before you get to see the doctor you first must see the nurse (which nine times out of ten is a woman.)  who takes care of the usual stuff. Weight, blood pressure, pulse as well as confirming what meds your on, what your chief complaint is etc. There are two nurses at the practice I use. Both in their late 50s. One is as sweet as pie, caring and gentle. The type of woman you would want for a mother. The other is fat, loud, obnoxious and treats the patients like they mentally retarded criminals. Of course, which one do you think I get? It got me to thinking? So many of the nurses I have encountered both personally or through ill friends or relatives have been absolute horror shows! And they have all been women. They are all angry, cold and obnoxious. They all seem to feel like they are the personal Praetorian guards to the doctors who they either treat as Gods or with disdain. Same for all doctors and dentists support/office staff. They are almost all exclusively female and all just as nasty and rude as can be. And as an added bonus they are almost ALL morbidly obese. Something I find ironic since they are working for a health care provider. I have known a couple of nurses on a personal level and they all told me the same thing. They went into nursing with the noblest of intentions but the other nurses just destroy morale and everything else you can think of. The constant gossip and bickering over stupid, stupid s~~~. The cliques, the freeze out’s, backstabbings,tattling, criticisms etc. All because of envy and jealousy. All it takes is one small off-handed comment from nurse X about something nurse Y wore and there can be years of bad blood. And all this bulls~~~ lands squarely on US, the PATIENTS shoulders! Doctors are too busy to deal with this bulls~~~. And why should they! Women are their own worst enemies. Far worse than anything anyone else could do to them! Could you imagine men doing this type of s~~~ and then taking it out on the client? No? Me neither! Wherever you have an all female group in a professional and non-professional setting you are going to have a s~~~ show. One can only imagine what life in a convent must be like? I shiver to think. A competition on who can be the most good, holy and Christlike? And now that we have almost fully intergrated the armed forces? Yeah. That has been and will be a smashing success.

My former dentist started out as a nurse.  She told me one reason she change occupations was because of how her former colleagues in nursing treated each other.

 

I also agree with how medical and dental support staff treat clients.    In recent years, I’ve noticed how belligerent and condescending they’ve become.  If they’re not dumb as rocks, they look down on them.  Their mentality seems to be like:  “Physicians are smart.  I work for physicians, therefore I am smart.”  As if proximity to intelligence and talent automatically induces the same in a person.

Years ago, I had a female dentist that started berating me because my teeth weren’t in such great shape, the braces made it hard to brush them properly, she went on a big tirade talking to me like I was some retarded kid. That really bothered me.

Needless to say I flushed her ass and got a new dentist that was closer to home and much nicer. The rest of the family eventually dumped her too for the same reasons.

The ex-dentist that I mentioned earlier started out like a decent human being and was actually quite pleasant to deal with.  She looked after my teeth for many years because she was quite good at her job.

 

However, after I got my Ph. D., she started getting snarky with me, talking down to me as if I was a complete idiot and couldn’t possibly understand anything about my teeth.  If I asked her questions, she was rather tight-lipped with the answers.

 

It was almost as if she resented the fact that I was a fellow doctor, though in a completely different discipline.

 

Eventually, she started looking for ways to make money off my teeth, but she didn’t give me any proper explanation.  It irritated me to the point that I seriously considered firing her but, thankfully, she saved me the  trouble by selling her practice and packing it in.

My sister worked at a dental office for about a year and a half to two years. I remember she always had stories about the ladies she worked; she got really mad when I told one of them about the time she stabbed me in the arm with a fork. Guess I provided some dirt. Shucks.

Sadly I’m currently studying Nursing (On a pathway to Paramedicine, then on to medicine) and I can wholeheartedly agree with the bitching, backstabbing and two-faced mannerisms of the whores I’m studying with. Theres about 1-2 guys for every 10 girls in this course. EVERY guy there isnt actually studying nursing to be a nurse, but to be a paramedic or doctor. When women work solely with other women this harpy-like behaviour comes to the fore every single time; and it gets worse and worse as they continually try to top each other and force the other women into submission by sheer c~~~iness.

The other problem with nurses, and health care professionals in general, is that they dont care. Sure they look after your health but after the 500th or 1000th patient presenting the same problems… add in some obnoxious patients, every 2 or 3 out of 5..

I’m not making excuses for their behaviour, health care aint pretty and there are those who get burned out but keep doing the job in the most despicable and bitter manner

women always complain about other women in the workplace, i’am like just do your work and f~~~ off Lay-dee.

 

Women tend to me be more emotional, in my experience (I know, Captain Obvious).  Also, they’re not as able to separate personal/family problems from the workplace, which means they can poison the work environment with their hostility.  Lastly, they’re more moody on cycles due to biology.  They also tend to be more competitive in a malicious way in the workplace, especially with other women.
