I’m on my way home from a job. I was going to turn into a convenience store for a cold drink.

A post Wall woman was standing in the parking lot with a sign reading “Homeless-Need Help”. I had a box of food for my lunch and just drove on past. I wish I had some business cards for the myriad of social services for women in her shoes that I could have tossed at her.

The homeless man to whom I tossed some sausage biscuits last Saturday had a sign that read “Homeless-Need Work!!”

Any questions? I think those two entirely different signs say it all.

One time a homeless woman was begging me for money when I drove to a place to get a sub. It was at night time and it’s a s~~~ty area to be in that time of day. She had her baby in a stroller with her trying to guilt me into giving her money and I quote “so her kid can have something to eat.”

I just said no and drove off as fast as I could. I avoid homeless women as much as possible because of the so many social services available to women. If she went to those services, she’d have a place nicer than the apartment me and my family are living in right now.

Shelters don’t let them use drugs. So they don’t go to shelters.

There are hundreds of well funded programs out there to help people get off the streets, especially if there are small children involved, but they all require the applicants to give up their drugs first, because there’s no point in wasting effort trying to save them from themselves if they don’t. If someone chooses heroin over getting their s~~~ together, well I don’t have a lot of sympathy for their choice.

If I wanted to feed children I’d have some of my own.

Giving these people money is only enabling their irresponsible behavior, and in this case you’d be enabling her to inflict her irresponsible behavior on a child. There are plenty of people out there wanting to adopt a child. If she really cared about her child’s welfare over her own, she’d look into that.

I see homeless people near the mall in my area.

The men are hardly helped out while the women have tons of drinks and food sitting up against the traffic light poles they stand by.

The story of most homeless women is this. They are hooked on something, they f~~~ over everyone that gets remotely close to them. They have just enough self control to seem like the sweetest gal on earth when you drive up to them, but anything past that, their true colors start to show, and they are BAD.

Also, there are lots of them who dress up in dirty rag clothes, and make about 200 bucks a day begging, and then return to their furnished appartment in the evening. This is well documented.

If we listen to a female at all, It's no longer to find out if they're crazy, we know they're crazy, It's to find out what flavor.

This one looked like a drug user. Helping a substance abuser is like feeding a stray cat. It’ll never leave. Sometimes, it’s more cruel to be kind. Sidecar is right those social services have seen it all and have strict rules. I suspect she lives under the parkway overpass before it hits a 1.5 mile long elevated on pilings causeway to cross a river. I once saw a decent looking homeless woman with children there. I suspect many are mentally ill too.

She p~~~ed me off as it is quite hot, and I needed a cold drink. She was panhandling anyone that went into that store blocking the entrance. She was hurting that Indian guy’s business.

If you have no money to get by, then you shouldn’t be having children in the first place. It should be understood that children require feeding, which costs money.

And some might say, well, maybe she had the kid before she became homeless. But in that case, once she became a mother, she should’ve done everything in her power to ensure that she and her kid wouldn’t end up on the street. That’s what being a parent is about. If she really cared about her kid, then she wouldn’t have stopped searching for jobs. I mean come on, the supermarket pretty much hires anyone. No their wage isn’t great, but it’s better than nothing. And if that fails, then there’s the welfare office.

There’s really no excuse anymore – there are so many services available to women, especially single mothers, that ending up homeless can only happen after about ten or twenty attempts at something else. And you can’t tell me that all of those went wrong.

And the woman on the street who had four kids?? Did she really have all of those before becoming homeless? It takes a while for things to get so bad that you have nowhere to live. Why didn’t she stop reproducing after the second one when, by that stage, things must’ve at least started going downhill? If you’re going through rough times financially, then maybe you shouldn’t be having sex when you don’t know what’s going to happen!
