Marriage is never a thing until 19 century. It is more of an alliance between nobility and family. The average men prosper without marriage for the majority of history. Only recently that big brother sister have the power to determine what you do in your bedroom.

Remove the nosy big sister power and most of the problem with marriage will disappear. All the cheating, misandry, weaponizing children, I am bored I want divorce will greatly diminish when women are responsible for their actions.

I don’t know that you can get that cat back in the bag, so to speak. Part of the problem is that many of the benefits of marriage are now readily available outside of marriage. Sex and conceiving children are two things were never accepted outside of marriage that are now rather common.

Even then, if you chance divorce laws so that they are equal, that does not mean that women will start behaving like the theoretical good wives of old. They can chose not to be married, because you don’t need marriage for sex or motherhood anymore…or they can continue to act bitchy hoping their husband will just deal with it.

It’s not a matter of changing marriage so it’s a fair deal for men, it now has to be better than what staying single can offer men. You can’t do that without artificially making being single worse, and I don’t think men will allow that to happen.

Ok. Then do it.
