I’m sure there are a lot of experienced gym-goers in this forum who don’t need to be reminded of the benefits of doing this incredible exercise. But this isn’t for the veterans, this is for the greenhorns who need to be informed of the most primal exercise you can do!

Listen up, guys, stop pussyfooting around and start lifting like you mean it. Stop ignoring the biggest, most dense muscle group on your body: the legs. It doesn’t just work you legs, it gets your abs and lower back in it too! All this makes you stand tall and strong like a silverback gorilla!

Now, assuming you don’t go to a s~~~ty gym like Planet Fitness or some other poor excuse for a gym, you greenhorns need to grab a hold of your b~~~~ and deadlift. But if you are at a s~~~ty gym, I’d advise you either A)pay a few extra bucks and go to a better gym that allows REAL lifting or B)start making your own home gym if that is possible. One is obviously more expensive than the other but has its benefits. Either way, get to the environment that allows you to do what your body is made to do.

Now you’re in your happy place, now get serious. Deadlifting is no place to f~~~ around, people get hurt doing it incorrectly. To be frank, exercising is no way to get hurt, it’s just not. You can look around all day on Youtube for good form videos, I advise it. But in the gym, do NOT be afraid to ask for advice from men who clearly know what they are doing. 99% percent of the time, they will be more than happy to help you. But if you run into some retard who thinks it’s better to essentially bully someone coming to them for help, f~~~ them. You’re in the gym for yourself, no one else. If you’re there for anyone else other than you, you’re wasting your time, money, and energy.

In conclusion, wake up your inner gorilla and increase your testosterone, your posture, lower your risk of injury(yes it does do that!) and unlock your inner strength. Most guys like to bitch about leg day, but damn I love it just for deadlifts!

    Get lifting!

Back when I was a young teen and just starting to lift, I was told, “deadlift is the king of exercises.” I agree.

Like the OP says, all exercises must be done with strict form. Happily, the internet is full of articles and videos on just how to do them correctly.

    …and never skip leg day.

I feel immense gratification after every deadlift PR I hit. When I started lifting I was a weakling barely able to deadlift 135. I am now hitting a 290 PR and working hard towards my goal of a 310 PR. Deadlift is the best damn lift to hit. Deadlift>Bench>Squat
