10 years ago yesterday, there was a new el train for the city of Chicago, and they couldn’t come up with a color name for it, so they had a little girl pick a color for it in the form of an essay. There were 3 choices to make: gold, silver, and pink. The students of this school write out an essay explaining why they should choose the color of their choosing. A girl won the right to call this el train the Pink Line which goes from the Loop to west suburban Cicero. Yeah, leave it to a little girl to make a color choice for the city and what color does she pick, the sissy one: PINK! Never mind the other two colors named after precious metals. If it were me, I would of named it the Silver Line.

The only reason why I’m posting this now is because yesterday they celebrated its 10 year anniversary, colored the entire train in pink, having that little girl (now adult) saying how cute her choice was.

Why am I also posting this rage? Because I HATE PINK, and I hate that it was a girl that made a city choice.

I live in the Chicago area and remember when the CTA announced the new line color. Was a big surprise – silver or gold would have been cool. Surprised Daley let that one go through. Rahm I would have expected!

What a waste of money. I wonder if that will form the basis for the womens only cars.

Of course girls liking pink is just a myth to oppress women, blah blah blah.

Except, of course, that they do.

Like I said, I would of chosen the Silver Line, because I like colorless colors. Gold would of been my second choice, but it looks too close to yellow, and I don’t like yellow.
