    The Awareness

I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?

New post from Rollo, short read.

    The Awareness

    Good essay.

Toward the end of the essay, Rollo Tomassi says that “the Red Pill is the theory while Game is the practice and the fieldwork experimentation. Both inform the other, and one suffers without the other.” He kind of has a point. If you have Red Pill knowledge but don’t know any Game, it can lead to frustration and Red Pill Rage, because you’re a Red Pill operating in a Blue Pill world according to Blue Pill rules. And it p~~~es you off to have to operate that way with your Red Pill knowledge. But knowing some Game gives you new Red Pill tools that you can use in the world and that work well with Red Pill knowledge.

I read Rollo Tomassi’s first book, “The Rational Male.” Great book. It really got into the social and psychological aspects of Red Pill knowledge and Game.

In the book, he keeps making the point that it’s not just about Red Pill awareness; it’s also about Game. You aren’t truly Red Pill until you’re practicing Game. And you have to keep practicing Game until it becomes natural and full-time. You can’t just do it a little bit until you land some hot chick, and then fall back into Blue Pill mode with her.

Same with this latest essay, I guess. He’s saying that it’s not enough to define what the Red Pill is. Because then people will dabble in Red Pill but still hold a Blue Pill perspective. It also has to be about Game, or how you treat women (Rollo calls it “intersexual dynamics” in this essay).

Of course, Game is a big part of the PUA world. Being MGTOW, I’m more about keeping women at arm’s length these days. But in his book, Rollo talks about how Game can be used in a variety of settings and for a variety of goals (Married game, Divorced game, Christianized game, High school game, etc.). I thought that this was enlightening when I read it, and I increasingly use Game dynamics in a lot of my daily interactions with just about everyone. Keep things fresh, keep things fun, don’t take things too seriously. And yeah, I think Game works together with Red Pill awareness to make me feel in charge of my world.

In his book, Rollo refers to the end result as “Positive Masculinity.” Do your own thing, operate by your own rules, don’t worry about what the world thinks of you. Just so long as it works for you.

Yeah, that essay was in his book, “The Rational Male.”

Basically it’s about Blue Pillers who learn just enough Red Pill knowledge and Game to go after their dream girl, but once they land their dream girl they go back to Blue Pill mode and f~~~ it up. Thus, Rollo calls them “children with dynamite”: Blue Pillers with just enough Red Pill knowledge to be dangerous, mostly to themselves.

Indeed. I have both books and patiently waiting the 3rd he’s working on. Rollo was my first red pill dispenser, wealth of knowledge over there for sure.

I haven’t read the second one. I was happy just getting the main outlines of his theory down with his first book, and then I just occasionally check out his updates and refinements using the essays in his blog.

I agree though, great stuff. Sometimes I have to read his essays two or three times. He takes his time getting to the point; often the main point of the essay is buried right at the end of the essay. I would prefer it if he were to state the main point at the beginning.

But that’s just a stylistic quibble. Mainly, he’s great because he has a bit of a psychology background, and he goes at his subjects from that angle. And he has really worked up a whole, complete system with the dynamic between Red Pill knowledge and Game that he spells out in his book.
