Sometimes I feel like the television character, Archie Bunker, because I don’t understand the way my society is changing. It seems to be changing too fast for my mind to process.

We live in a new age of female advantages disguised as “gender equality.”

Marriage is no longer sacred, and single motherhood is praised.

We now have 100 or so different genders to recognize and respect…and you must accommodate them with your public restrooms.

White people can get suntans and identify as black people.

Many politicians are more eager to make life easier for illegal aliens than citizens—although the illegal aliens can’t vote for them. Security is tight at our airports but loose at our borders. Meanwhile, our soldiers are fighting to protect the borders of other nations from violent, foreign invaders while terrorists come to the USA unvetted through our immigration system, and violent gang members cross the Mexican border. If you want drastic changes in the immigration policy to keep dangerous people out, you’re accused of being a bigot.

Our old cities are crumbling: there are empty buildings and factories and there’s violent crime everywhere. Not only do kids fear for their safety in the schools of impoverished, urban areas, but the upper-class areas as well. We aren’t safe from a psycho with a gun no matter how safe we think our neighborhoods are.

China is able to build a brand new city in just a few years—thanks to our American consumerism. Detroit is decaying while Beijing is growing.

A couple of decades ago, you could fully fund the operations of the federal government with just one trillion dollars of tax revenue. Now you have to collect 4 trillion dollars.

The Baby Boomer generation could depend on a manufacturing job for 30 years, get a decent union wage, and retire with a nice pension. Now: people are lucky to have any manufacturing job or a corporate job for longer than 5 years because of downsizing and restructuring. And the values of pensions can decline or even disappear from mismanagement by the time a worker is ready to retire.

A lot of people have lost the art of common decency. They just want to get stuff from each other without working or reciprocating favors.

The women you used to date decades ago can change their minds about the mutual sexual experiences you shared, and use social media to accuse you of sexual harassment—and you’re more likely to be publicly shamed in this manner if your social/financial value increases significantly.

Internet personalities and reality TV stars are celebrated for their “talents,” but if some engineer at NASA invents a more efficient way to launch a rocket, we won’t recognize him, give him an applause, or even a small trophy. Speaking of trophies: your kid deserves one—although (s)he lost the soccer game.

Despite all efforts of the social justice warriors to create a kinder, gentler nation, people are much more rude and obnoxious than they were 40 to 50 years ago.

Excellent recap, that about says it!
Society is definitely changing. Virtue alone might save our society. Still, one must adapt or be left behind. For instance marriage is no longer relevant, it’s jungle love and soon to be jungle law.

Uh, more often than not the U.S. soldiers ARE the violent foreign invaders.

Other than that, well spoken for the most part.

I too am beginning to feel old and crusty in my forties, I am not the bigot that Archie Bunker was, but things are a changing big time since I have been alive, and most of it has been for the worse.

You don’t have to like it, You probably won’t be able to understand it, and as far as “accepting it” or parts of it; well, that’s another one that you will have to figure out.

The one thing that YOU nor I can do is “Change” it into what we would like it to be.

So, F~~~ IT, walk away from it, and do what YOU want to do each day. Take care of YOURSELF, and find the folly and humor provided for you DAILY by the Matrix.

Someday, you will be gone. So, enjoy the ride, and scenery.

What are your other options ?

I’m looking forward to retirement. I want to get some ranch land and build a house. I just want to deal with people on a very limited basis. A lot of people are proud of themselves for going full retard, and I don’t to be involved with their mess. I’ll pay my taxes for people who are lazy/irresponsible while my critics accuse me of being selfish.
