I have a rainwater cache system set up off my gutters to help keep my thirsty garden happy. I checked and in my state there are no restrictions on collecting and storing rainwater. Not so in drier states. Which is asinine since collecting and storing rainwater actually saves public water. Some government twit did research on it, and wasted taxpayer money on something that is common sense.

Sounds like another layer of control to me.

Any collection/containment of rainwater by anyone, anywhere in the state is a violation of Nevada water law… but they typically don’t enforce it on the individual level.

I live in Nevada as well and I think that’s a bulls~~~ law.

Collecting rainwater anywhere should be an individual right. It’s not harming anyone and it’s saving the city’s water. So I don’t see why the government would make it illegal.

The only reason I can come up with is that they’re trying to force people back on the plantation onto the grid. I know the government doesn’t like people living off the grid because they don’t want people to be self sufficient.

I can already imagine a moron in power saying “collecting rainwater will result in less clouds, or the seas to dry up because you refused to let the rain hit the ground and have it evaporate they way GOD intended it to do!”… just like some senator or whatev saying that solar panels should be forbidden because they steal power from the sun, causing the sun to die.

    Guess which country.

    Yup.

It the UK the rain is ‘owned’ by the water company.

They ‘turn a blind eye’ to people collecting it …. for now…. but there ARE laws in place to arrest anyone that steals THEIR PRODUCT.

I can just hear you guys saying .. ‘next it will be air’

Well we are already paying for air in ‘green’ taxes and emission controls in London.

Dig deeper in local laws … statues … and you will see some sinister s~~~ going on.
