    This is not a posting spamming or anything like that. I’m just saying that computer that I bought parts for last month is now fully built, formatted, configured and is now officially on eBay for sale. Damn that shipping box with everything in it is heavy (42 pounds). Hopefully I get this over with. Too much worrying, money invested, time wasted, work, and too much of too much. I just this computer project over with, and my money back plus some profit. So it’s up for sale.

    Congrats @residentevil7! Is this your first time getting in to business for yourself?

    This computer project was just a test run to see if I want to make an at-home business doing something I’m very passionate about, but because there was too much of too much (money, time, expenses, worrying, fees, technical stuff), I decided not to make this a business. If I’m going to build and fix computers, I’d rather work for someone else, at least right now. Maybe I’ll make it a business if my confidence level goes up enough. But like I said, this project was just a test drive to see if this is something to make a business out of and I decided that this isn’t the right time. My confidence is too low and my worries are too high. And at the end of it, what? I have no idea what my profit (if any) will be when it’s all said and done. So far I have $950 into it, and that doesn’t count eBay fees, PayPal fees, and whatever shipping this 42 pound item will cost me.

    As far as getting into business for myself, I would love to do something I am passionate about and make money doing a business/hobby rather than struggling my way through job applications and interviews that lead to nowhere but more apps and more interviews that lead me back.

    Great job. You took a risk, accomplished something and learned some things.

    Not to sound c~~~y but you should be proud of yourself.

    Building computers is super easy. But if you want to make a profit on it, you have to fight your way past all the losers selling the shoddy stuff like a $25 case with an included free power supply and el cheapo RAM. They’ll sell a “8 core” system for $400. You can’t compete with that. And unfortunately there are too many people that are dumb enough to buy these cheapo systems. And there are thousands of idiots willing to build a computer for $20 profit after eBay and PayPal fees. I wish you luck, but you’ll probably have to sell it at a loss in order to get rid of it.

    @residentevil7,
    You have achieved much, congratulations! Just because it is not economically viable does not diminish it in any way.

    P.S. A man I know is married to a woman who buys kitsch at yard sales and sells it on ebay for a tidy little profit. It’s her pin money. I’m guessing she makes about the same with zero work.

    P.P.S. I bought a very nice collector quality chess set from an ebay entrepreneur like her.

    Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

    There isn’t really much to it anymore. Technology is at the point where it can do almost all of the technical stuff. Even joesixpack can slap parts into a box and have it work.

    When I was younger I co-oped in a computer store. But not more than 2 years later the place was gone, because there was too much competition. As he had mentioned when I was there. Sales were very competitive.

    Sucks I know, eventually things will come to the point where you won’t have to have spend the time learning anything anymore. That will be a sad day when that happens.
