    Testosterone?

Should men consider using testosterone? Who knows? This is one of those controversial topics in medicine. I’m intrigued with the testosterone diet and look forward to trying it.

    Are there risks? Maybe.

I’m enclosing a link to an article in JAMA.
    The article is entitled,
“Association of Testosterone Therapy With Mortality, Myocardial Infarction, and Stroke in Men With Low Testosterone Levels”

    http://jama.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=1764051

A 2013 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association followed more than 1,000 men who had low testosterone, went through coronary angiography, and were treated with testosterone therapy. The study found that the men who took testosterone had a significantly higher rate of stroke and heart attack compared to a similar group of men with low testosterone who were not treated with testosterone.

So who knows? There are a zillion studies looking at testosterone.

Some physicians are concerned that testosterone can increase hematocrit. If the hematocrit goes up too high, there are concerns about the blood becoming too viscous or thick, possibly increasing the risk of stroke. This is a controversial topic.

Some people think that high testosterone levels might increase the risk of prostate cancer. This is another controversial topic. However, prostate cancer becomes more prevalent in men as they age, and that’s also when their testosterone levels decline.

Sleep apnea is a serious condition that affects a lot of men as they get older. Testosterone has been shown to adversely affect sleep apnea.
Be careful taking testosterone if you have untreated sleep apnea.

So is it safe taking testosterone? Who knows? There’s a lot of money in low T these days. Testosterone can definately make you feel better. Are there risks? Maybe. So do your homework. If you are thinking about testosterone, maybe check with your family doc or pcp.

    It’s all more feminist bulls~~~.

If you aren’t sexually attracted to landwhales in their 30s when you’re in your 30s the same as you were attracted to fit young women in their 20s when you were in your 20s, the claim is you have low T and something is wrong with you.

My claim is that the problem is with women and society. Men for thousands of years have wanted nothing to do with fat women in their 30s. Even in Ancient Greece men apparently wanted nothing to do with FIT women in their 30s. You either married young or you didn’t.

I will not be shamed for not being attracted to older women.

It’s just a way for the pharmaceutical industry to sell drugs.
If a man need more testosterone, and I doubt most men need even more testosterone than the quantity we already have, that’s the way:
    1) Lift, at least 3 days per week
    2) Quit smoking
    3) A proper diet: quite a lot of proteins, but the good ones – it should be include: salmon (at least 3 times per week), eggs (at least 3 times per week), fish/seafood (beef and lamb are full of female hormones), chili (everyday), garlic (almost everyday), beans and lentil (at least 1 times per day you should eat beans or lentils).
    4) Do not exaggerate with alcohol: you can even get drunk one or even twice times per month, but do not drink alcohol every damn day.

The way to check if your testosterone level is adeguate:
If you have erections all the mornings when you wake up, then your testosterone level is already adeguate.

    2) Quit smoking

It depends on what you are smoking if you smoke pot then yes they will lower your test levels but there is no evidence to link cigarettes with lower test unless your diet is poor.

Now when it comes to test i have plenty of it now and i could f~~~ most chicks however i see it as perfectly natural to not be able to f~~~ every chick on the block once i get older especially when it dips down a bit in my late 30’s/40’s.

As for the erection pills its simply a ploy to make money most guys need a hot chick or just to lay off the porn a little bit instead of a perscription but if laying off jacking it for a bit does not work then you need a hotter chick.

Not sure. I follow all the “rules” I posted, except 2: I’m a smoker, cigars, not pot nor cigarettes. I’m 43 yo and I have spontaneous erections when I’m waking up almost all the mornings: in fact all the mornings except when I fall asleep later than usual and smoking more than usual.

Now when it comes to test i have plenty of it now and i could f~~~ most chicks however i see it as perfectly natural to not be able to f~~~ every chick on the block once i get older especially when it dips down a bit in my late 30’s/40’s.

I don’t get the practical meaning of “not be able to f~~~”: if she take your dick in her mouth there’s no such thing as a man unable to get an erection and f~~~ her, even if she’s a landwhale or post wall.
The truth is that most us have internalized the idea that f~~~ing a woman means being willing to courtship her. This idea is bulls~~~, meant for female benefit.
Do you have erections if you watch pictures (still pictures, not porn movies) of naked women (even not-so-hot women) totally naked and spreading their legs in an inviting way? I guess the answer is “yes, always”. Then you’re able to f~~~ a similar not-so-hot woman, always (because when she rubs on you the effect is greater than simply watching pictures). Being willing to put efforts in courtshipping / impressing her it’s just another thing…

All drugs are inherently dangerous. Hormonal drugs more than most.

    Avoid drugs!

By “avoid”, I mean do not take into your body!

No, it’s a medical article with well documented statistics.

It’s just a way for the pharmaceutical industry to sell drugs.

Why do you say that, since the article seems to advise against taking hormonal supplements?

Knee-jerk reactions aside, I think the article is right. We don’t have a complete understanding of the body’s chemistry, and taking hormones willy-nilly will probably cause malfunctions.

Anyways, taking testosterone supplements is the wrong solution to the problem, as stated in the article “symptomatic testosterone deficiency”. The right solution is to find out why those people have lower than normal testosterone levels and address the cause directly.

Our testosterone levels naturally decline over time. We have evolved for this. Who really knows what biochemical pathways are negatively affected by pharmaceutical testosterone enhancement.

I am highly skeptical of it. At least diet enhances your ability to create your very own testosterone created for you by you. I’ve read that allowing one’s self to become obese negatively affects testosterone. As for myself, vigorous exercise does boost my sex drive.

I could not f~~~ a fat wench either. They are disgusting. I’d pork a damn sheep before I f~~~ed a land whale. It’s bestiality either way.

You presume too much. I would be NOWHERE NEAR a 35 y/o landwhale.

Agree with everything there brother except for beef,it’s full of B vitamins, protein and Creatine which are all necessary for building muscle.

Testosterone diet without taking steps to shed the extra pounds (if they’re there) is not effective.

Married men have lower testosterone : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/13129483

I don’t understand the craze over testosterone level – so long one doesn’t start growing t~~~.

If you feel good, are healthy, enjoy a balanced diet/exercise- what the T levels state on a lab result is a moot point.

The misinformation on here is troubling. It’s really funny when nonprofessionals claim all kind of bulls~~~ without knowing all the facts. Well, let me give some insight into this from someone who’s studied this stuff.

-testosterone levels are lower today in men. It is a serious problem and if you think T levels are not important, then, you probably weren’t that affected by it.

-you don’t have to have a physical manifestation of low T (obesity, gynecomastia, poor hair growth) with lower T production. These symptoms only present themselves when T levels are very low, but, even that is not absolute. Your T levels are specific to you and other factors are important.

-Other factors important: sex hormone receptors, sex hormone binding protein, adipose tissue content, stress and counter regulatory hormones such as cortisol and glucagon, mental status (depression), diet, environmental toxins. A very skinny guy and no gynecomastia can have low T levels. A big fat guy with beer belly can have normal or high T levels. Many factors are at play here. I would say the biggest factor today is environmental chemicals in our food, air, water, and compounds that we come in contact with.

-Lower T is associated with depression and lethargy. It is absolutely important for a high functioning male. The excuse that we lose T production as we age should apply to more senior citizens. There is absolutely not reason why a 50 year old male should have low t levels. Don’t buy into that bulls~~~.

-If you don’t care about not having optimal Testosterone at this point in your life, that’s totally fine. You should not be shamed for it. Just know that a good portion of what makes us being a man, is dictated by T levels. If you are hindered in your life due to lower T production, this needs to be addressed. Why go through life miserable? I don’t buy into all the bulls~~~ about testosterone usage and adverse health affects.

I disagree that hormonal medications are the worst drugs with the most adverse effects. There’s just no evidence for that kind of statement. Let’s take other medications for example. Statins like Lipitor, are mainstream now in the middle age and senior citizen population. As a physician, I despise this drug. It’s one of the biggest cons in health care industry and one day we will look back at this and shake our heads in disgust. A drug that unnaturally lowers cholesterol is deemed okay by the industry, yet, a mere hormonal supplement that can actually aid men in achieving a sense of their manhood back is frowned upon.

Our cell walls are mostly made up of cholesterol. It also is extremely abundant in the brain and nervous system. Yet, we inhibit it’s production. Any surprise that Alzheimer’s is on the rise in the senior citizen community? And, of course, cholesterol is important for T production.

Yes, I know all the studies about statin use and lower heart attack and stroke. Well, if you want to trust those studies, you are welcomed to it. Let me just say that our patients come back year after year while still on statins and they still have major problems. It’s their lifestyles, smoking, diet and some element of genetic predisposition that cause their disease. T

I’m coming off my soap box, just know, that there’s nothing wrong in wanting good T levels. Do it naturally if possible. If not, then, you can supplement.

Final thought: T production is very transient. No, you don’t have to wake up every morning with an erection to know you are at “NORMAL” levels. Maybe this week you were really stressed out at work, and were not getting enough sleep, and your diet was s~~~, and you’re fighting with your ex over alimony, etc. Of course, sex won’t be at the top of your concern at that point and your body needs rest. So, give it the rest it needs. If the problem continues for longer period of time, then, perhaps it’s time to check your T levels.

    God bless peace and freedom.

One more thing, and then, I ‘ll stop.

ask yourselves: why is it okay for the medical community to prescribe female hormonal injections and pills to regulate hormones in females so they can have less periods and for birth control early in the second decade of a women’s life? Even if we know they are associated with blood clots and liver tumors.

    But, not for males?

    God bless peace and freedom.

I laughed so hard I coughed black coffee all over my new carpets.

    This so is true.

Looking back, it is good that the borderline ex bounced. I don’t know how well I would have done married to a fat land whale. I like attractive women – I can’t help it. I have heard through the grapevine she hit the wall HARD over the last few years.

I’m in my Late 30’s and 20 somethings are all over me like catnip and I am no pretty boy. Crazy.

no problem my friend. Increasing it naturally has been posted by others here before. But, what I do is this?

    -a zinc supplement. 50mg
    -a multivitamin
-I take ZMA. It has zinc, magnesium, and it seems to work for me. I get more signs of androgenesis (oily skin, etc). Others say it doesn’t work. I disagree.
-green vegetables: I eat a lot of broccoli. It seems to help me with just a better overall health. Do not cook it. Raw my friend.
-Personally, I take a B-complex vitamin as well. Just because.
-Try to sleep well at nights and even take naps. In many ancient cultures, napping was standard. It seems like a recharge switch. It personally difficult for me to nap given my work schedule.
-Herbal supplements that I can attest do increase T levels transiently. Look into superior labs on amazon. They sell one that I can attest to working. There are thousands of reviews on it. I’m not associated with this company. I’m just saying what worked for me.

-Another thing that I just started doing and cannot say whether it means anything yet. Someone else posted this just recently so I won’t take credit but here it goes. NO MORE PLASTIC BOTTLES HOLDING ANY BEVERAGES. No water bottles, juice, whatever. I have adopted glass and aluminum can only for now. There are too many hints out there that plastics leech out anti-androgenic substances.

-No soy products. For the love of god, what f~~~ing idiot told men that soy is good for you. It has estrogenic properties. Do not eat soy of anything.

-shorter workouts. Go strong, and don’t do too many sets. 45 to 60 minutes is plenty. Too much and cortisol is secreted and is antiandrogenic.

-oh yeah, and one of the most important things. FATS. Remember the low fat craze of the nineties and early 2000 era. Forget that s~~~. We need fats. It is vital to proper functioning of many types of cells (nervous system, heart, kidneys, etc). I eat whole eggs. I add peanut butter to my shakes. I drink whole milk. F~~~ the establishment. They have lied to you.

    God bless peace and freedom.

Good point. All of the bis-phenols used in plastics are estrogen mimickers not just BPA.

I’ve switched completely over to glass and drink nothing but multi-stage Berkey system gravity filtered tap water. My water comes 1000 feet down from the Floridian aquifer so it’s really old water containing no fracking chemicals or Fukishima hot particles. We’re even able to get whole milk in glass bottles again too just like when I was a kid.
