————————-Tim adds in all the news at least to the point you can look it up. The Vertas removal is a critical step. A lot of issues interconnected, and the arguments. Worth a listen if you have not already.

This reason speed of censorship says that someone there was likely closely connected to what was expose. While this thread is still unknown, it likely exists. That is the only explanation for the speed and thoroughness of the censorship.

Actually, there are far more media outlets now, than ever before. The broadcast networks are much weaker than they were in my youth.

It is easier than ever for someone to educate themselves online or check facts. You have entire web sites devoted to fact checking.

Fake book, T~~~ter, and these other platforms, are public companies, they are not obligated to provide forums for free speech.

The most difficult step, is moving beyond the tribalism of loyalty to political parties. So most media diversity, has merely comprised a shift where conservatives watch Fox and liberals watch CNN, essentially, echo chambers. You have media outlets that are simply biased towards one political viewpoint, instead of more objective news coverage. And that is because it meets the demands of the marketplace for individuals to have their own views reinforced and validated.

I do not want to see these online platforms regulated by the government, even though I dislike fake book. You are free to join it or not.

Two companies controlling the media? What about the larger problem of two political parties controlling the State? Haha — election law, ballot access, makes it difficult for any third parties to even get on the ballot. Has the dominance of two parties contributed to big government, waste, and corruption?

I would anticipate any regulations the federal government does implement, would only be to perpetuate the power of the entrenched interests.

If these platforms elect to censor one political viewpoint more than others, they will lose market share. I have a fake book account but only log in every few months.
