Swords, Axes, Shields, and Fur Coats!

I just finished binge watching The Last Kingdom. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Kingdom_(TV_series) Blood and guts and plenty of it! It’s amazing what they can do on what is obviously a limited budget. I recommend it.

Our alpha male hero is a bit bone headed when it comes to interpersonal relations and diplomacy. But hey! He’s a viking! What else should I expect?

I also recommend Vikings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikings_(TV_series) Same era, even some of the same characters — both series are loosely based on what little we know of the history of those times. Except our alpha male hero is very astute politically in addition to being an all out viking.

I’ve seen about half of Vikings (everything that is out on DVD), and I can’t wait for the next DVD set to arrive!
