Surfing the shorebreak

Unlike surfing the waves where if you get dumped by the wave you can be driven deep . Sometimes not knowing up from down .

Shore breaks are different . You just get smashed into the sand so you keep loose.You can break bones and sprain wrists and s~~~ .

If you get a good shorey you can do summersalts . Boogie boards are alot of fun in them too .

Never underestimate the surf . A big one is people swimming out and not realising how big the surf is .

Waves are measured from the back not the face of the waves .

The reason surfers tied a cord from their board is not to protect the board, but to save the surfer when the surfer is dragged down by a wave. The board will bob to the surface, helping the surfer know which way to get to the surface and not drown.

Leg ropes are cool in certain surf . It saves you having to swim in to shore to get your board so you can catch more waves .

In surf comps they have a time limit where they have to catch waves and pull tricks to earn a score . So in that situation its a good idea .

FIN CHOPS

In really big surf you don’t want to be attached to ya board . Seen a few guys with bad fin chops . One time this Brazilian dude had his leg opened up real good . C~~~ couldn’t walk someone was going to call an ambo but his mates shoved him in the car . They were all Brazilian i couldn’t make out what they were saying .
