Cooking in the crockpot today is beef stew:

2.5 lbs of boneless chuck roast (dry rubbed, flour coated and seared) all added to the pot

    5 cups potatoes
    3 cups carrots
    2 cups sweet onion
    2 cups celery
    1 clove garlic
    water and flour for gravy

6 hours high and 2 hours low. Carrots added with 2 hours of high cooking left, keeps a snap in them.

    Fresh muffin rolls

Been outside all day, temps in the low 40’s with light wind. Really looking forward to some good comfort food around 6:30!

Home you are doing well Doc.

You are welcome! I will have two large portions tonight, lunch for two days and have two servings to place in the freezer for “emergency” meals!

Enjoy and I hope that you have decent weather this week. Great talking to you yesterday.

Wow GregBO, I defrosted the last of my 2nd Cowboy Steak last night! I’m having it with baked fries and peas tonight! In the garage of course! I thought for sure I’d loose power today with all the wind, but the MANGRILL doesn’t need power to run!

Nothing can get between me and my delicious juicy steak! I can eat in the dark!

I’ve just bought a new rice cooker which I’m keen to try out. Properly cooked rice will go well with this.

I’ve been on a spaghetti binge as of late. I do the same with chili & red beans/rice with bacon or ham. This mushroom gas is getting to me though.

I like making Texas Red Chili in a Crockpot or Curried Chicken which I put on top of some rice.
