We had the UK Budget yesterday and one item is the introduction of a sugar tax on soft drinks.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-35824071

Looking at the obesity in the UK I think this is a good idea, in fact they could have gone farther IMO.
Mr Osborne said the money raised – an estimated £520m a year – will be spent on increasing the funding for sport in primary schools.
I know the US also has this problem, not so sure about other countries? When I was at school 35 years ago there was one girl who was obese. Yes, just the one, in a whole school. She got picked on and one day in assembly, the headmaster announced she was absent because of bullying, then told us all she had a kidney disease and the medication was making her overweight. No one bullied her after that.

Women are so bad, if they changed the law so I kept the house, I still wouldn't marry one. I'd rather be homeless.

Hmmm… I would recommend instead removing all taxes on foods with no added sugar or sugar substitues, and remove all taxes on companies that make exclusively suger-free and suger substitute-free foods. Then again, I’m no economist…

Watch how fast the population shrinks back to normal, and the price of desserts will SKYROCKET because so many companies will want to ditch the taxes.

It’s certainly a step in the right direction but I don’t see it making much of an impact as it only applies to soft drinks. We would be better off teaching children about eating a proper balanced diet, getting enough exercise and recognizing their bad habits like using food as a coping mechanism to deal with stress.

Uh, what’s next? Uncomfortable women’s shoes that cause bunions tax? Not eating your vitamins tax? Spending too much time in the sun tax? Salt tax? Red meat tax?

The more you give em the more they will f~~~ up with your money.

The U.S. could be a literal UTOPIA with the tax dollars spent on the war on drugs and the wars in the Mid East alone…

Stop willfully accepting that the government should steal more of your money! Being free is a mindset.

Check out #thanksmichelleobama. Children’s pictures of the “nutritional” lunches provided by big daddy government and the first man “Michael” Oboso. I wonder where all of the extra money goes. Some connected mooching asshole’s pocket me thinks.

Just about any extra sugar is bad for humans. More taxes are worse.

Humans have self control don’t they.

I know that a 5 cent increase is not going affect my shopping habits at all.

If the UK Gov really cared about peoples health, they would lower the price of healthy food Instead of taxing sugar infused crap.
