Abstract:
Substitutes for marital sexual gratification may impact the decision to marry. Proliferation of the Internet has made pornography an increasingly low-cost substitute. We investigate the effect of Internet usage, and of pornography consumption specifically, on the marital status of young men. We show that increased Internet usage is negatively associated with marriage formation. Pornography consumption specifically has an even stronger effect. Instrumental variables and a number of robustness checks suggest that the effect is causal.

Well, now they notice it. And they provide the usual anti-porn feminist narrative. But we all know that decease of marriage is a larger trend, which has nothing to do with porn.

Consumerism and economy growth is at stake, if men stop providing for females and they know it. This is going to hit them hard and I love it!

WOW. So this has hit more than one scholarly journal. I seen one about economists worrying about young Japanese men doing the same and the economic impacts of it. I couldn’t find the original journal article I seen a few years back but this link has close to the same message:

This article gives a nice overview of the issue, but no where near in-depth as the journal article I seen previously. Although they focus on the issue of sexual apathy, and they have a bunch of fem-Nazi talking points like “backwards gender equality”, but the issue is raised. Perhaps this issue in Japan from a few years back ( I don’t believe it has been resolved either) might be lying ahead for other countries.

And the biggest source of that trouble is demographic: Japanese people aren’t having enough kids to sustain a healthy economy. One big reason they’re having fewer kids is that they’re not as interested in dating or marrying one another, in part because they’re less interested in sex.”

Japan has had weaker economy in recent years and for one of the main concerns addressed to be low birth rates means a lot. Japan has had a sluggish economy the last few years, but they are still in the top-ten in the world. Most alarmingly is they have massive debt to GDP ( gross domestic product aka the s~~~ you sell to bring in money to pay said debt ). They need babies to pay off the debt of their parents…. I guess this is the major flaw to debt based systems, but that is another discussion in itself. The wash post article has some good charts showing what happens to population when a generation decides sex isn’t for them…

Like you I believe that more people will start to catch notice of it more and more. However, this issue is a few years old and also might be more wide spread than people realize. Although this isn’t a good thing as the only options for left for the masses are not pretty… At it’s most extreme it means the government intervening and doing something about it. Something I don’t want to think about, and hopefully I’ll be on my sail boat in the Caribbean with my bottle of jack before anything gets that extreme….

I don’t believe that’s even a legit question to ask same with the does pornography stop or replace marriage. I tried reading the journal article bit more but its 40 pages of stats guys trying to draw a connection between time spent on the internet and the probability if you are married… Although the beginning of the journal article had some decent data it seems misleading to some extent and uses subjective terms like happiness level and satisfaction… I bet a woman had a part in it… LOL

However, I did find a gem…

dropped by 39%, with a 17% drop between 2000 and 2010 alone.1 Today, the proportion of men
between 25 and 34 years old who have never been married is more than six times higher than it

Marriages that do form are about twice as likely to end in divorce today as in 1950.

Reality sets in a bit… From 2000-2010 marriage declined nearly the same amount as the previous 50 years.

I have no problem masturbating most of the time, and paying a $200-$300 every once in awhile for a high end prostitute. I agree with most who say that in the future we will have robots, and other sexual alternatives. but in my opinion prostitution is already a way to get around the real gold digger HOUSE WIVES. Think about it. Your grandfather (and maybe even your father? and generations of men before us) had to MARRY a vagina before they could have access to it. Even if the modern male gets only 3 vaginas in his LIFE without signing a contract he’s doing better than most men just a few decades ago. We’re not “f~~~ed”. We’re laughing, because we learned something our forefathers didn’t: “the juice is not worth the squeeze”. Perhaps for the first time in history, feminism has exposed to the world the TRUE female nature and it’s the WORST thing they could have done for themselves,… which turned out to be one of the BEST things for men.

Men have been under the illusion and automatic presumption that women are “goddesses” – good enough to DIE for. Their vaginas were always considered the holiest of holies instead of the polluted sewers we know they really are today. For the longest time men have behaved like women are “unattainable” (women and even some men will try to convince us of that s~~~ today!!) over-inflated and priced out of the market.

We’re not f~~~ed. Women are. And they f~~~ed it up for themselves.

I don’t know about you fellas, but I’ve got to say that men are doing better than ever.

We’ve figured out that cooking our own meals and cleaning our own homes are not only not back breaking chores but are healthy and fun, we’ve discovered that we can shop for bargains and take care of our own money, we’ve learned that having a steady job, a wife and some kids is not the end-all be-all objective of life and, most importantly, we’ve finally caught on that we can get a lot more sex by just saying and doing whatever we want than by chasing, worshipping and spending money on females.

In short, we’ve come to the realization that man stuff really is better than all the feminized crap we were being spoon fed for so long. Not only is it more healthy and fun for us, but the females like us more when we do our own thing as well.

Given that my father was paying for a house, three cars, an ex wife, a second wife, three kids of his own and one more from the second wife’s previous marriage and that he probably had sex with fewer than five women his entire life and even then probably not more than 30 times TOTAL his entire life, I’d say I’m looking like a f~~~ing rock star compared to him. I am, without a doubt, definitely living better than my father could have ever imagined.

Females these days? My mom was a school teacher for a few years until she got married, then she cooked and cleaned and did laundry and made sure us kids got to school on time. She didn’t really have to parent us… just keep us from dying. And that was her full time gig. And she had a maid. In exchange she got free room and board, a car, clothes, jewelry, dinners, vacations to Las Vegas and Aspen, safety and security AND someone to p~~~ and moan about whenever she wasn’t happy (“Your father blah blah…”) and she never once had to suck a dick or send someone a nudie photo.

Females today? The competition for men is fierce. They’ve got to give it up in their teens just to get any attention, much less the chance to pin a guy down. Full time jobs, student loan debt, credit cards in their own names… they’ve got to pay their own way… and since they’re living alone for the most part, they still have to cook and clean and do laundry!

Today’s liberated females work a lot harder, have far more financial responsibility for themselves, have to give up a lot more sex and still have all the same housekeeping chores that their mothers had… and get zero security from a man. Sure, they can have a baby and try to sucker a dude or live off the government, but a female that takes this path will never have half the quality of life and comfort that my mother had by simply being a prim church girl and holding out for marriage then being a stay at home mom.

When you consider return on investment, my mom was doing way better than her modern counterparts. I can pretty much assume she did the least amount of f~~~ing humanly possible and never once did anal. I wouldn’t be surprised if she only ever had sex twice in her entire life, once per honeymoon… so getting all that s~~~ and a relatively cushy mom gig out of it was a pretty good deal for her.

All things considered, I’d say us men have gotten far more benefit from feminism than the females have. Sure, we have to put up with narcissistic and annoying chicks but then again, weren’t they always that way? Now we’re freed from having to play their game and that’s probably the best thing that could have happened for us. I don’t know about you guys but I do not want to go back to where my dad was just so some female can have a bunch of nice s~~~ and tell me how I should be living.

I can’t speak for everyone else but I do not want to get married due to the following:

-Get enough sex without marriage.

-Fraudulent claims of DV run rampant and destroy the lives of many.

-I can’t seem to find a woman who I am attracted to, can connect with, and want to marry without one or more of the following conditions:
-Single mother
-Utter psycho
-Married to or dating someone else
-Victim Complex
-Hang-ups from previous relationships

-The messed up family court system

-Even the better women seems to find herself more valuable/attractive than she really is.

-Even the better women tends to have at least one mangina friend who secretly wishes he was the one in her pants and is ready to throw you under the bus because the lil’ bitch thinks she will finally play with his pee-pee after she breaks up with enough men.

-Even the better women tends to have at least one slutty/man-hating/worthless female friend who is always giving her bad advice that she occasionally listens to.

-Even the better women today tend to do less in the relationship.

This not only about housing. The entire corporatocracy or ever-growing central bank economy depends on men turning the hamster wheel as fast as possible: to provide women with income, which they can spend in consumerism temples, aka shopping malls. Men just meeting their basic needs and otherwise ignoring the whole marketing bulls~~~ will bring the entire system down – and feminism with it.

This is one of the reasons, why corporate lobbyists are so interested in marriage – like the ones who ordered the study this thread is about.
