The women in Steve’s audience want to know why their boyfriends avoid the topic of marriage. My answer is: Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

A lot of women are insecure because they need to know that their romantic relationships are going to be permanent. Well, they would be more likely to be permanent if they weren’t so hostile to men AFTER THE HONEYMOON IS OVER. I think a lot of men know, in the back of their minds, that the party is over once they get married. There will be more responsibilities and less pleasure—particularly sexual pleasure.

Steve’s ex-wife (Mary Harvey) filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against him and wanted him to be arrested because she claimed she he was emotionally abusive and didn’t give her enough of the community property. But if he talked about those problems, he might lose ratings…and his job. His job is to give his audience—who are mostly women—hope for a better world.

I don’t avoid the topic of marriage with my gf of 15 months.

In fact, I never miss a chance to denigrate the concept of marriage, particularly as it exists in this legal and social climate.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Watch the Comedians in Cars getting Coffee episode with him on it. He knows what hes doing and eventually hes going to be open about it.

Even if you aren’t getting the milk for free you can be sure that once you are married the cow will stop producing the milk. So the question is; Why buy a cow that you know isn’t going to give any milk?
