    A freind of mine has a stepmother who is spending way too much. He is going to confront his father with this though he doens’t know how to make his point.
    Any advice as to how to get the father to see the danger?

    Depends totally on the dynamics of the father/son relationship, father/stepmom relationship and the stepson/stepmom relationship. Also depends on the age of the son. The father could misinterpret this as an intervention and just blindly block it out – or continue to allow himself to be oblivious to it.

    Difficult to tell, but perhaps drop little a little grenade like “yeah, I noticed she spend money like it’s going out of style”.

    … and leave it at that. For now.

    If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
