I felt I should post this to warn the brothers what can happen with Statins. Note this is all very recent. After my open heart bypass in 2015 I was put on Statins. I tried a few till we found one that seemed to work with no side effects (Simvastatin). I been on it since 2015 with no issues. About a 4 months ago I started having joint pain and weakness. I could not go to the floor without finding something to pull my self back up with. Then I got knee pain especially with stairs. Next my hips started having sharp knife like pains deep in the joint and then shoulders stared acting like I had spurs in rotator cups. I could not pull myself out of the pool by then, or get off the floor without assistance. But, there is more. Next my eyes felt bulged and my gums started bleeding badly. So I started flossing more, but the bleeding was so bad it even made me late for work trying to get it to stop. My Doctor was worthless and I found some posts that suggested it was the statins. Sure as s~~~ I been off them three weeks today and ALL the symptoms went away. I can do burbees and push ups like I could before. My gums stopped bleeding and all the pain is gone. I just wanted to pass that on cause at some point you will age enough that you will see changes in blood pressure and cholesterol levels and you need to be informed.

Statins are a slight poison to youe system .Similar to taking small amounts of arsenic. Cholesterol is an essential repair molecule. There are sane doctors like Dr Malcom Kendrick that are worth reading and watching. The killer lipid particle is small dense ldl and it is generated by high carb diets, ironically enough.

Yup. HDL is good. Two types of LDL, one is good (big fluffy) and one is bad (small/dense). Small and dense ones come about through high starch/sugar, high processed carb diet. Antioxidants help deal with bad LDL because the bad LDL are formed from oxidation (relating to the high sugar/starch breakdown). The problem is say your artery has an area needing repair, and cholesterol is called on to seal it off while the body repairs it. The big fluffy kind get there, that’s fine, because they are not a problem and when they are no longer needed the HDL will take them away to be recycled in the liver. They are bigg and fluffy and do not fill up or pass through the repair area. The small dense ones can pass through the area needing fixing and cause oxidation damage and inflammation. And being small and dense they can harden and thats the hardening of the arteries. They are a lot harder to get rid of than the big fluffy LDL that is the healthy LDL.

yeah statins can have side effects, not all of them known or correctly studied, However is one of the few methods we have to stabilize the cholesterol plaques that cause the clog in miocardial arterial system.

It is true that cholesterol is a needed rapair molecule, i mean most of the cell membrane are fats, specially cholesterol, But the older we get the harder it is to metabolize it correctly and the more it acumulates in our arterial system.

The human body is designed to live more than 100 years, unfortunatelly our vascular system is not.

Discontinue statins and try some alternative choices, im not very knowlegeable in alternative/natural medicine (sorry). Just know a few stuff i use personally, brown rice, red blueberry, bee polen, ginger roots, jamaica flower, etc.

There is no need to ingest cholesterol, body can produce it on its own, actually my cholesterol and triglicerids acid are low, and my testosterone is OK, So no problem there.

But some people need to take statins specially the fat people who does not exercise at all and eat all kind of crap.

    Take care and good luck.

To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.

I had a similar reaction to statins, and the problems went away once I quit taking them. Exercise and high fiber along with a good diet is the way to go. Take some Co Q-10.

maybe, but is the only way to control fatsos cholesterol and try to prevent a myocardial infarction. No other choice, sorry i hate the Big pharma the most, couse i basically give patients their bulls~~~. But i have to, there is no other choice.

Medication should not be permanent, for example: Gastric acid secretion blockers like Omeprazole, should not be taken more that 3 months, couse have a lot of side effects withh time, But i know people who is been taking it for 10 years. And if i retire it, the simptoms come bac the next day, i aint got much choise do i?

Do your homework, you have google.
You’ll find statins are one of the biggest earners in Big Pharma history.
Science already knows they’re useless, and so does Big Pharma.

Stick to the hints already given in this thread and study the nature of dopamine based addiction, to processed carbohydrates.

Dr Robert Ludwig is one of the most knowledgeable and dedicated in the harms of processed carbs, especially sugar (his pet hate)
He does a lot of terrific Youtube videos as well.

Carnage, I will prescribe statins, but with full disclosure of their effects. Once you look at the research, which happens to have the raw data locked tighter than Fort Knox, statins have lost effect. The Pcks9 inibitor debacle also sounded the death knell for the lipid.heart disease model.

I hear Niacin is good alternative.
