Any of you guys played D&D?

I played it as a teenager (when it was AD&D, second edition), wrote my own campaign complete with hand-drawn maps, but haven’t done so for ages. Starting again soon and DMing for a bunch of guys I don’t know, looking forward to it. Been reading up 5th edition. Anyone got views on it? In some ways seems more complex than I remember but the DM guide in particular is a lot better, full of helpful ideas about storytelling.

I have to admit I was relieved when I found out my group was all blokes. I realise this is the first thing I’ll have done in a long time that will be exclusively men, and I’m pumped for it.

Let’s kill some monsters, fvck yeah! (Although I also love the storytelling/narrative/worldbuilding/intrigue stuff…)

There aren't holes in your pockets. It's called marriage.

I havent played in years, but it is how I spent lunch during most of my teenage years in school. I have played many simulations for being able to play solo as well. Still love games like Elder Scrolls, Baldurs Gate, etc. Due to the years I played AD&D. Somewhere, have my original set and dice. Good luck brother, play till your mind is exhausted… is a hell of a game.

No longer can we walk away, we must run. Remove the motive power.
