Hi all, I started a new job today for a non-profit. I am the only male working in this office. I assumed there would have been at least two or three males, but no. I received a new offer today with better pay and growth opportunity. Not sure how I am going to walk into work in the morning to tell them I am quitting after only one day. After all, they did gave me a new position. Don’t want to be a dick to them. Thanks

Start your own business. Get a loan from someone if you need help getting started. That’s usually how the billionaires get it done.

In the first three months there is typically a period they can fire someone without prejudice for no reason at all.

    You owe them nothing.

Just don’t burn any bridges, stay professional and say you found something else. If they ask where politely decline to answer.

Let us know how it goes I’m nosey.

Edit: if it’s a non-profit you owe them less than nothing.

I see where you’re coming from. That is indeed a very awkward situation. It’s easy enough to walk away from people who treat you like s~~~, but it’s harder if they haven’t even done anything yet. Social interactions are the farthest thing from my area of expertise, so I’m afraid I have no advice. Good luck.

Yet. Him and a group of women.

What you do today will have little impact on tomorrow.

Be entirely honest and walk away with your integrity intact.

    A fair employer will understand.
If they don’t understand it’s even more reason to walk.

@ Manspread Mansplainer My supervisor seem upset, but the director was very understanding. She wanted to know why so they could improve their hiring process. They were very nice about it so this makes me feeling a little s~~~ty. I don’t think I would last that long with all of those middle age women anyway.

@ Jan Sobieski Yes, the new offer is much better and more growth opportunity for me in the long run.

@ It’sallbs You are absolutely right. That is one reason why I decided to ditch them. They have no loyalty to us employee. Thank you all.

    Perfect!
That’s common they ask you those type of questions for an “exit interview”.
For the next sap that comes along which isn’t you.
    Congratulations and good luck!
