I don’t have “wealth”, but I certainly don’t consider myself poor either. I feel as though I’m in the middle, if you believe there is a middle. Doesn’t matter. When I get home from work today, I’ll be happy and content and won’t shoot myself in the head. All I am worrying about at the moment are the trespassers I recently caught on my camera. I think the police are taking care of that though, so I’ll not be worrying about that for long.

    True!

Personally, I believe the elites are not money-rich, they can get anything they want in a heartbeat. They just use money to keep the population under control, otherwise we will have chaos. Elites do not need money.

In this day and age, even being a very successful business owner guarantees absolutely nothing. The future is too unpredictable. Look at how many once ‘super successful’ companies crashed. Look at what the GFC did to many people who invested in properties. The general public did no see any of these events coming. Perhaps the elites did and kept it top secret. If we keep our hopes way too high, it is just a recipe for suicide in the extreme case.

    Edit: just to add:
This does not mean we do nothing. Keep our chin up today and be joyful and see what the tide brings us tomorrow.

A tranquil mind is neither happy nor sad, it is uninfluenced by external conditions.

As someone had posted in this or another thread, all societies eventually collapse and then there will be no wealthy or poor. We’ll all be in the same boat with money meaning nothing and trying to survive living off of nature again. I hope I am dead before then. I am really spoiled on electricity.

The evil in women’s hearts leaves them no moral bounds as to inhibit them from descending to the lowest levels of darkness to acquire their self entitled desires.

    Bingo!

You see what is happening, brother.

Back in the 80s (and back), when I grew up as a kid, there were the:

    > poor (somewhat large percentage of the population)
    > middle class (the majority of the population)
    > rich (a very small percentage of the population)
    > elite (microscopic percentage of the population)

Fast forward to today and in the near future, we have:

    > poor (the majority of the population)
    > middle class (awaiting for the rich class)
    > rich (very small percentage of the population becoming the new middle class)
    > elite (microscopic percentage of the population)

We are being merged with the poor. The future looks s~~~house. I will do my very best to remain joyful for the remainder of my life.

Depending on your age, or during these times, your age may have nothing to do with it, there is little you can do about it anyway. What will happen will happen and all you can do is make the best choices you can with what you currently have. I am doing exactly as you said, doing my best to be joyful and it really isn’t that hard since I am no longer married and I’m living alone.

The good thing about being me is that I’ve never known anything else. No matter what they say the economy is doing, my standard of living has remained mostly constant with the exception of steadily making more money as I grow older. When they said we were in a recession, my life was just as good as when they said the economy was good. It hasn’t seemed to effect my lifestyle at all. For all I know, the economy is really bad right now, but I’m doing just fine.

    Yes!

When we learn to adapt, we become the inner peace and tranquility.

I don’t have much to add to this thread other than to agree. Most people are “friends” when they can benefit from you and disappear when they can’t. I am also an introvert and have found mgtow philosophy fits me like a glove.

And also kudos to DarkRyu for his hard work and good money management. I plan to be a landlord in the next few years but 8 properties would probably be well beyond my wildest expectations. You never know, though. One day at a time.

Heh, now we’re back on topic. I almost forgot what this thread was originally about. Great thread btw, both the on topic and off topic stuff.
