Just a little bit of a positive story in light of all the stories of ruin and despair that we’re all familiar with. Goes to show that being calm and having a plan and strategy pays off. Divorce and cheating while the spouse is deployed is sadly all too common in the military, almost to the point of being a joke.

That said, while this guy seems overjoyed and rightfully so, I have to wonder whether he actually “won” or if it’s really just a tie and we as men are so used to getting ruined by the court that anything less seems like a victory. I don’t know if he’ll have to pay her alimony or not, but what really worries me is the issue with the kid. Since she refused to release the results of the paternity test, he might be screwed there and become another notch on the tally board of men paying child support on children not theirs, even when it’s obvious (the child clearly being a different race than the actual husband). If you consent to getting a paternity test, then you consent to the results of that test being known upon request in a court of law.

There would be no alimony. The judge at the time would have ordered it and to confirm there would be no alimony he ordered her out of the matrimonial home (and automobile) with no compensation. There would be no child support, even though there was no paternity test. She confessed on the stand to adultery, that here husband was not the father and the father was someone else. His name would not go on the birth certificate. She would have to go and find the biological father if she wanted money.

With how bad I’m used to seeing soldiers get skewed over the outcome was practically a spot of joy, first the one with GoPro getting the fake threats and assault on tape and now this.
