Social media use associated with depression among US young adults
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/03/160322100401.htmStay off social media!
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
Anonymous42A walk through any city garbage dump is also depressing! Wallowing in the mental mud and filth of Face Book and others is enough to cause men to take their own lives. It’s a graveyard for the soul!
People (mainly women) ask me why I am not on social media. I reply “Because it is impossible to start over.” I think there are many depressed people that would like to start over without constant reminders from their past.

Actually, I think wallowing through a city garbage dump or some beat up abandoned building would be less depressing than social media is.
I wish I’d never touched social media. It really made me a depressed person the past 10 years. Thank God I found this site, where I can speak my mind and heart and NOT feel condemned for what I do. Constructive criticism is one thing, straight-out shaming for being a man is another. THAT’s what most social media sites do.
The only time ever used social media was to stay in touch with a Facebook group I used to meet every now and then. Otherwise, even back in my blue pill years, I hated social media. The only websites I use anymore that could even be considered social media, is this website and Youtube.
And I’m sick of Youtube as well. The main reason I use it is to download music for free.
Neurotypical humans are social animals. You get a little squirt of feel good brain chemicals when you interact with other humans.
You don’t get that from Facebook. Social media is actually isolating you from the world around you.
Instead of making small talk with a human while standing in line you are buried in your phone.
The technology designed to bring us together is actually keeping us apart.

That’s one of the big reasons I am not. I’ve seen people on there I determined I never wanted anything to do with ever again, years ago. They just invoke bad memories.

Anonymous12There is a really good novel by Ben Elton called “Blind Faith” worth reading as it is all about social media in a future world gone mad.
Anyway, what I have noticed about people I work with who are on social media is they end up blocking their friends who post too much! They aren’t interested in what people have to say but they are interested in the networking aspect of it as if it means anything.

no one sums it up like you mgtower !
razor sharp .
Anonymous25Yes, social media will cause depression and a host of other mental illnesses.
It doesn’t meet basic human emotional needs.
