One attractive feature of internet forum sites is that you can have discussions about anything anonymously. This morning I saw the hashtag, #CNNBlackmail, on Twitter and looked up the news article that inspired it:

    http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/04/politics/kfile-reddit-user-trump-tweet/index.html

The whole shebang started with a tweet from President Trump that was offensive to CNN:

    <p lang=”und” dir=”ltr”>#FraudNewsCNN #FNN pic.twitter.com/WYUnHjjUjg</p>— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 2, 2017

    <script async src=”//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

I don’t know what Andrew Kaczynski’s intent was to contact the Reddit user named “HanAssholeSolo” (who was responsible for the wrestling video), but it inspired him to delete his Reddit posts and write an apology for fear of being exposed and losing his privacy.

    ****SPOILER ALERT****

This incident reminds me of the movie, The Circle. This movie had a scene where the main character, Mae (played by Emma Watson), challenges her large social media audience to find people. This experiment ends with a horrible tragedy.

The internet is fun to use, and it is an interesting experience to communicate with people around the world. However, it is a challenge for those who want to use it, and keep their personal lives off limits to the general public. Sometimes I get paranoid when I see guys in the public restrooms tapping on their smartphones. Are they filming me taking a p~~~ and uploading it to a website? Anyone, anywhere, can be filmed and exploited by a troll. Computer hackers, working for CNN or the NSA, can find out information about people they don’t like, exploit them on a website, and use coercion to either make them apologize for their statements/behavior, get them fired from a job, or have them experience the penalty of ostracism. Many Facebook users have lost their jobs because they either said something or posted something that offended someone.

It seems like a safe bet to not be a member of any social media site. One step further would be to quit using the internet. But, as I stated before, if you’re in contact with anyone who has a cell phone, they can film you kissing your girlfriend in the backseat of your car or catch you with your fly open. Then they may post it to WorldStar HipHop and you’ll get internet fame whether you like it or not. Just like the The Circle movie, you could someday be under 24 hour surveillance all over the world.

I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

Now we can see what celebrities have put up with for decades. Popporazzi always following you to get a picture of you picking your nose. I stay off social media and keep a low profile. No one needs to get pictures of me in the rest room, but you’re right. Social media accounts can paint a target on your back for anyone with a grudge or an agenda.

I can’t emphasize this enough, social media is not secure in any shape or form. Avoid totally.
If they want your details the website owners will just hand them over to the law often without a warrant, if some sensitive female makes a complaint.
The things the feminazi’s find offensive these days is beyond belief.
Safer to just do your thing and keep quiet well below the radar, as the over 40’s wall hitting wallet hunters will discover you and hunt you down relentlessly.

True but you can safely use the internet in moderation if you are smart. Just know that certain words and phrases are triggers that will place your traffic under a higher level of inquiry and question.

This might be for ads and marketing, or it might be for law enforcement. Totally depends upon what you do and the frequency that you do it within.

Moderation and caution should be your watchword.
