I was having a conversation with a MGTOW brother over the weekend where we were discussing the impact of social media on dating.

I’ll call 2007/2008 as the beginning of the modern social media/smartphone era. I’ve dated women on both sides of this divide as had he. There are massive differences in dating culture post 2007/2008.

To summarize, I’d have to say the negative traits of women have been massively amplified.

Let’s take the online dating dinner simp rinsing phenomena. Pre-social media, when a woman’s potential simp pool was 1-3 orders of magnitude smaller, men would quickly learn that a particular one was rinsing men and spread the word especially so if she never slung t~~~. Now, they can attract fresh simps from a surprisingly large area. My research work has multiple examples of desperate simps willing to drive two hours to meet one of my props.

Pre-social media, one generally knew your competition. Whenever a Chad arrived into your physical social circle, it was pretty damn obvious. Today, a woman can easily have multiple secret Chads with whom she consorts. In my observations, normal women tend to stick to a single Chad while the promiscuous ones tend to have multiple Chads. Every one of my props, will get Chads coming on to it nearly immediately. These Chads are surprisingly easy to manipulate though the simps are easier. I’ve never tortured a simp and never will. Chads on the other hand are fair game as they can handle it better.

I remember a world prior to 2007 where one would be able to spend quality time with a female without her shoving her beak into a smartphone screen every 10 minutes. Now that she has multiple orders of magnitude of more men available, she is getting pinged constantly. I remember when I first encountered having to actually compete with a social media equipped smartphone thinking how rude it was. I would advise men to use this to our advantage as an indicator in gauging a female’s interest in you. If she is into you, that means nothing as those orbiters will be rejected. However, the wily ones can easily hide this from you.

Conclusion:

Social media has rendered dating moot. It hobbles men as much as it empowers c~~~s. It took this particular conversation for me to realize that smartphones/social media played a significant role in my choice to go MGTOW. I am not alone.

In short it has turned men into a commodity. One that can be used, abused and discarded at a whim. With the never ending incoming vaginal access, causing supply to flood the market, the value of said commodity is next to worthless.

I remember the first time I investigated lopsided online dating back in the late 1990’s. My prop got 32 men versus zero women for me. Today, I’m getting 200 to 400 men in the same time period hitting on me with a much lower response rate for my control account.

I’m no Chad, but I can actually pick up attractive women in the real world for a pump-n-dump. I used to like to hunt alone when I did it. Typically, one’s “friends” tend to c~~~ block.

I think though that we should be thankful for the smartphone that has made the situation more visible to men. Now more men are seeing the game is rigged and deciding to live for themselves, occasionally stopping for moments to watch women “have it all” until they hit “the wall”. People say reality is a bitch, but it only is to people who ignore it.

my ex cheated on me through facebook sometime in 2008. She hooked up with a man she knew in high school. She graduated HS in 1992. I know she subscribed to classmates.com in 2005 and was able to communicate with other subscribers. Then in 2005, a string of old high school girlfriends made their way into our weekly summer backyard parties. It did not occur to me that there would be a string of men appearing in her life through the same portal, but never brought to the house.

You are on to something when you say men can defend against local threats to the fidelity of spouses. Before the internet and social media you could see who was a potential Chad at church or the grocery store or in the neighborhood. As you know, with the internet, we are able to communicate with anyone, face to face with video conferencing at anytime. Now there are 4 billion potential Chads. We have made experimental dating profiles and we have see how thirsty men are. There was always a better offer.

I could not see the threat to my marriage. That Chad lived 50 miles over the horizon, far outside our normal social circles. She works as a computer technical person in a major city for one of the most well known companies in the world. He is some sort of construction worker working on minor projects in small rural cities. Ordinarily, there is no possible way these two would have met other than pure accident. This guy is listed on the classmates.com site as a subscriber. He used facebook.

so if my ex found this guy on classmates and facebook, how many others have there been? For years she terrorized me demanding to know who I talked to, accusing me constantly of cheating. Phone calls every couple hours, keylogger on the computer, close scrutiny of household finances beat me down so badly that I didn’t want to leave the house or talk to anyone out in public just to avoid the suspicion of cheating. I didn’t realize that maybe she was projecting her behavior on me.

After the divorce, I thought the Chad she just picked up was the first and only. Now, I just assume that there were many affairs and Chads along the way, maybe as many as 10, one a year is a reasonable supposition. I think that mostly to think less of this c~~~, to drive the point home in my mind that she was a cheating lying c~~~ from day one.

I never looked at her Blackberry or her smart phones, they were provided by her employer for work communications, calls and emails and internet access. Because she worked in IT she was one of the watchers. Who watches the watchers? Now that I am in IT I understand how these systems work and can be used to monitor employee behavior. Had I been able to access the Blackberry, I would have seen how she was using social media to communicate with other men.

It is no different now than it was then. The vast majority of women don’t use online dating. The only women I’ve ever seen online are the worst of the worst, and the attention whores.

Women aren’t going to waste their time on something otherwise. Sure she’ll attention whore on instagram and extract resources on twitch stream, but she’s probably going to be married or otherwise committed to one guy at a time while leading on the rest of them for resources. Women love the attention but don’t really want to be around the vast majority of thirsty men, who they consider creeps.

Chad isn’t going to waste his time either. Even for Chad online sucks. In real life he can spot a girl, walk up to her, make a move, and f~~~ her in the bathroom before leaving, all in under a half hour. Online he has to put up with her bulls~~~ and setup a meet and risk the flaking, this is not worth his effort.

The only men online are the PUA geeks who are faking being desirable. They’re such losers and are so desperate that no amount of effort bothers them, and their time has no value anyway. And of course the big time beta males that donate $13k to twitch streamers and think they are forming a romantic relationship that way.

I have posted an interlude with a “smart phone date,” It is not my cup of tea. Negative for on-line dating as well. First question always asked was: “What do you do?”(for a living) total Hypergamy om their part,…no response. Thing was; I got that response time and time again.

I been MGTOW before I found this site. Twas grrrreat to see that this happened to others as well.
Smartphones were indeed a “game changer,” for everyone.

As I have gotten older I have realized that I am irrelevant and invisible to females of practically every age. This fact is amplified by my lack of a social media presence. It was a painful lesson to learn but a necessary one nonetheless. In the end it helps me to maintain the MGTOW lifestyle that was once a choice but has now become a practical necessity.
