Just putting my coin in that neverending discussion!
Today in the morning, I’ve got papers for further medical screening interventions. So what I’m going to get almost for free. Almost is because every year I pay little for an obligatory medical insurance. And it costs me just as 5 visits to a commercial clinic for a general medical examination.
So what I’ve got now for such money:
    Blood tests (free)
    Cardiac screening (free)
    Chest X-ray screening (free)
EsophagogastroMATHAFAKAduodenoscopy commonly known as gastroscopy (free)
All visits to doctors are free as well.

Sounds like the Russian system might be better than the UK’s. You have to be at death’s door before the NHS will intervene(if you’re a man).

Correctly to say remains of the Soviet healthcare system. But it won’t last too long.

Free as in ‘not taxpayer supported’? Perhaps you aren’t paying the taxes, but someone else is? Somehow I doubt the doctors and nurses and medical equipment providers are working for free.

    Ok. Then do it.

We pay taxes which reach up to a half of an income. And we pay a medical insurance. But it’s just 0.2% of a year gross income.

Ahh, but how is the quality of Russian healthcare, and your overall taxes, and a consideration of your overall cost of living versus wages for the average Russian.

Rephrase the question. I don’t know how to answer this one.

First question:Albeit free, is the healthcare you get of satisfactory quality
Second:Although free is the cost in taxes worth it

It depends on a doctor. I would mark the quality of the modern Healthcare system as 3 out of 5.
It’s worth anyway. Because each year I pay 7k rubles for a medical insurance, while only one gastroscopy would cost me 3k if I wish it undergoing in a commercial clinic.
