I just finished re-watching Sink the Bismarck! for the umpteenth time. Magnificent movie, I watch it every so often just to remind myself what men were like once upon a time.

It is. Did you ever listen to the song of the same name by Jonny Horton? Kinda campy but I like it.

Anonymous26Damn fine movie…..! Yeah although most WW2 holywood movies are holywooded, despite that…… that generation of Allied men were bad ass and my Heros!
When you hear stories of some guys committing suicide because they had a health issue (or for whatever reason) couldn’t do their bit!!!
I wish The Devil’s Brigade had been a little less sappy and a little more accurate, still a good movie!
Jan.Sobieski…… Johnny Horton’s awsome! Battle of Bull Run, 1814 (can’t recall exact name of it at the moment)
Battle of New Orleans.
In 1814 we took a little trip…

I haven’t watched that one in like forever. It’s a good movie. I Know a couple stores that may carry it. Will be on the look out for it.
Don't let them Blame, Shame or Tame you!

I haven’t heard of that one. Thanks for the tip!
Battle of New Orleans.
Another old favorite I haven’t seen in far too long, seen again that is. I’ve seen it multiple times and never grown tired of it.

Anonymous26RoyDal….
The Devil’s Brigade is about the First Special Service Force of American and Canadian soldiers. To be fair and not to spoil the movie for you, it portrays Americans as unruly and undisciplined while the Canadians are prim and proper (on a sickening level).
A bit corny holywoodish embellishment ya know.
In reality…. when near the end of the war when the Brigade was disbanded and the Canadians were ordered out of the ranks to file and form out……… men from both countries wept because they were saying goodbye to their brothers that they trained, fought and died with.
Funnily enough, I’ve never actually watched Sink the Bismarck!, even though I’ve read the book like five or six times (One of my favorite books back in middle school). I should probably get around to it…
There lies serenity in Chaos. Seek ye the eye of the hurricane.
Was reading up on the HMS Hood the other day, must watch the movie 🙂 (Again).
