So worked example based on those numbers:
Five decades ago for every 10000 children 700 of them were raised by unmarried parents, 616 of those by single mothers.
Today of those same 10000 children 2500 are raised by single parents, 1325 of them by single mothers.

So according to that text single motherhood has actually doubled in those 5 decades.

But the text doesn’t even match the graph, according to that 21% (2100 out of every 10000) of children are currently raised by single mothers, more than triple the original number.

Decline? pull the other one, it’s got bells on it.

This may be as simple as cost of living rises coupled with welfare cuts -they need a simp to sponge off more now than they used to, so they shack up with some bloke who has a house. Single mum can now spend all she receives (I do not say earns) on herself. She is not quite as free as she used to be but she is richer so who cares.

I understand your point, but the BSN degree in Nursing has a lot of science included. Here in the state where I am working, 2 chemistry, 2 biology, 1 anatomy, 1 physiology, 1 algebra, 1 statistics, 1 pharmacology. I may have missed a few. Some are required before you can apply to the Nursing program.

And that’s not even including the science behind specific nursing classes. Its not engineering, but this isn’t women study either. This is not an easy degree by any means.

Also, that starting pay quoted must includes all the low level Nursing jobs, including home care and elderly care centers.

Here, Nurses at a hospital say, start at about $44K, but have steady increases and lot of opportunity for overtime. And there are specialty areas. Surgery, ER, critical care, neo-natal. Nurses don’t get rich but any BSN level Nurse on the ball can be making $70-80K
