The year in hell is almost over, the bitch/c~~~ filed for divorce in February, 2017 after 24 years of marriage. There was no notice, just a process server waiting in my driveway for me, when I left for work. She quit her job five years ago to care for her mother who is in a nursing home and work on our marriage. Little good that did. No complaints from me, I wanted a divorce since 2010, just not brave enough to file. Of course, she wanted everything we have. In spite of the fact she earned about 1/3 of what I did over that period of time.

She gets the house (no mortgage), her retirement accounts. I get all my vehicles car, truck, two motorcycles, camper and keep 100% of my retirement accounts and she pays me $20,000 as a settlement. Retirement is the most important to me as I turn age 64 this year and plan to retire in December. Not what is fair, but the best I can do with the court system. I don’t pay her any spousal support so I am free from her money-grabbing ways after today. Some ways of computing things sucks, but the courts always favor the women. At least we don’t have any children. She didn’t before but changed her mind after marriage. I didn’t so I got a vasectomy to prevent any “mistakes”. Smartest thing I did during the thirty years I’ve known her.

That bottle of champagne in the fridge will be coming out when things are final.

    Welcome to freedom!

Signed mine in August 2016 I think it was & got them back in October.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

    Congratulations TTW.

Mine was finalised the same day as Ranger One.
Happy days of doing whatever the hell you want.

With everyone doing everything backwards I got my divorce before I got married thereby canceling out the marriage divorce process! I came out ahead!

Congratulations! My divorce was final August 24th 2010. I kept my car and pension. She got $1,075 spousal support a month for two years (no fault) and everything else. I was earning almost 3X what she was when I filed. We didn’t have kids (thank God) but had we had them I would’ve been buried during the process.
    Well done sir!

Given the current gyno-centric Court System, I think that you have come out of it very well, TTW. Hopefully, it will all be over for you shortly, then you can begin the rest of your life, woman-free! The main thing is that you get to keep your retirement money; that is a miracle in itself, nowadays in divorce!

I know this sounds strange, but I always fancied the idea of living on a boat, being a kind of ‘free agent’. But I don’t know if I would be able to get my Piano in there… just a strange dream I have always had.

Ok, she gets the house, but s~~~, you keep everything else AND she pays you $20,000.00……?????….and you pay her no support…??… Man, you made out like a bandit. I thought I did really well in my divorce. She got the house, I kept all my s~~~ and paid child support for one year.

Always glad to hear that someone escapes the misery of matrimony alive. Don’t know about you, but I wish I could’ve done it when I was much younger. Congratulations to you and don’t stop celebrating after that champagne. Celebrate your freedom every day till the day you die. Your life will be so wonderful now.

Not strange at all. That is why I gave up property to keep my retirement intact and get some cash too. I will be purchasing an Airstream camper this year and plan to retire at age 64 in December of this year. My mandolin will fit into it nicely. Will be living in it full time.

Initial plans are to spend the winter in Phoenix and get a job doing tax returns during tax season. I’m a CPA. In late spring I hope to work as a campground host in the Sierras. Most of them run May to September. Not sure where fall will find me, only somewhere with good weather before I head to the southwest desert for the winter. Life can be good for unmarried men, if you make it that way.

Have you thought about teaching CPE courses? That’s something I’ve thought about doing when I “retire”. I’m about 10 years younger than you so just starting to think about it now.

    Congratulations on the divorce.

Congratulations! Ditch the bitch and retire. That’s a great plan. And if you ever get to missing her (fat chance, right?) you can always go to a bingo hall and listen to the women bitch. Then, you won’t miss her so much anymore.

Congratulations brother, take some time and breath in that freedom. I know it cost you a lot of money but it was worth it, now it is your time do what you want and plan your retirement.

My divorce took two years although it took four and a half years to be financially untied from her. 8 years more child support for me and then I am going to be planning my retirement as soon as I can.

I have, but doubt my ability to do so. I’m uncomfortable as a public speaker and not sure I have enough detail knowledge to teach. Time to prepare and study the material would close the knowledge gap.I plan to leave my home state so it would be in other states. Would probably have to stick with one state as I suspect you would have to get a reciprocal CPA license for that state.

Do you know what the average pay for teaching a day’s course would be?
