Sick of Google

A few days ago I opened a youtube channel so that I could post a reply to a video there. I opened it in the name of Space Monkey. Now every time I send an e-mail from my gmail account it says it has been sent from Space Monkey. This is the gmail account I use for all my personal and business contacts, as you can imagine it makes me look a right c~~~ when I write to my accountant and she sees the mail as having come from Space Monkey.

I have sorted the problem out now, I’m just annoyed that Google decided to change my settings like that automatically without any notification.

So I want to get away from google altogether, ditch chrome, stop using Gmail and use a different search engine, one that doesn’t collect data on every f~~~ing thing I do in cyberspace.

Any recommendations?

There are two good ways to get what you want in to security platforms

1 medium security: Download Firefox set homepage to Duck Duck Go and Download and use Apache for your e-mail application as you would outlook.

2 high security: download Tor install on your system follow the instructions to set up proxy IP address.
Don’t get confused with setting up proxy domain or server standard settings should be sufficient to stop any tracking software.

I’m sick of Google as well. But, the only main reason I still use it is because it’s free and allows me to watch flash videos on my Linux box.

However, what I plan on doing is switching to Linux Mint (it has flash already installed)

Using Firefox

Switching to DuckDuckGo

And either saving up for an iPhone or using a generic phone that can only text and call other people.
