No spoilers – watched this over the weekend and what a brilliant film! From the opening scene I thought it was going to have a Mary Sue as the lead but it didn’t pan out like that at all

Del Toro is great as is Josh Brolin – great story and great payoff at the end

picked up a ticket to see the sequel at the cinema I enjoyed it so much

I recall the big uproar from Feminists because the main female is flawed as are all people. The thing is it made the film better rather than seeing some kind of super woman who was surrounded by infantile and inept men.

It reminded me of an old style film rather than a new one.

The original is great, but I am concerned about the sequel just released in the cinemas. I still intend to watch it though.

Just watched the trailer posted in this thread, now I am even more concerned about the sequel. Seems like Del Toro’s character has become a soft c~~~, not the same character I remember from the original film.

I am going into this film blind – saw the trailer in the cinema a week or two back and it looked fine. Haven’t rewatched it and won’t watch that one Blade has posted above but hopefully it pans out ok

    Completely agree

it’s what dumb feminists will never understand and why Nu Star Wars is a dead franchise with characters like Rey in it

Saw it last night and it was brilliant

Del Toro hasn’t been turned into a cuck at all. All it involves is a bit of father/daughter stuff but the guy is still as violent as before

In fact I was shocked at how there wasn’t any girl power stuff in this film. There was literally none of that crap and not one stronk wimminz character in the whole film (the one involved with Brolin gets ignored by him anyway)

usually on the special forces team there would be at least one woman kicking buttz but not in this film…just a load of blokes shooting s~~~ up

Women in this film get shot, blown up, washed down rivers and shown up to be utter c~~~s (SPOILER – American woman ferrying illegals with her kid in the f~~~ing car)

It is just an old fashioned action film with no feminism and just great – men who are actually men – characters (Del Toro and Brolin are f~~~ing brilliant)

that is probably why it got average reviews and I recommend it to everyone

Exactly, Sicario is a great, love the director. Havent seen the second one yet.

I remember redboxing Sicario and in the first 20 minutes I was p~~~ed, ready to turn it off because of the female. I was elated later in the film when they put her in her place instead of pushing the typical and unbelievable heroine crap.

After that first scene where she shoots that gang member I thought it was going to be a girl power film but it wasn’t at all. She is pretty useless if you think about it – she tries to f~~~ the guy sent to kill her lol

and Brolin and Del Toro are just using her to make all the stuff they are getting up to legal anyway
