Look at it this way. If you were to take a small infant, less than 1 year old, and force feed it pints of hard liquor every day, would you be guilty of child abuse? Then why, when they are even less developed and in a much more critical stage of growth, is it supposedly ok?

I’m so sick of hearing about these c~~~s who absolutely refuse to take responsibility for their own horrible life choices. They accuse anyone who is even the slightest bit critical of their lifestyle of misogyny. But they don’t care at all about the lives they ruin, even when they are ruining the lives of their own progeny.

They really do think that their precious “feelings” are the most important goddamn thing on this earth, and everyone and everything should revolve around their happiness. The only good thing about it is they are completely incapable of raising high quality, viable offspring. Their genes need to be wiped from existence.

Absolutely: pregnant women who drink should be punished, even more than now. There’s no such thing as the right to harm the child.
A MAN WHO SMOKE IN PRESENCE OF A PREGNANT WOMAN IS PUNISHED FOR THE VERY SAME REASON.

Ah yeah, I made a topic about this a while ago, and the conclusion was that if you tell a pregnant woman to not drink and smoke, you’re sexist.

    Sigh.

There is a reason why children should not drink alcohol, their body cannot handle it (and many other stuff) yet. And if a parent gives alcohol to the child, it is a sort of illegal thing.

Why should that be different for unborn children? According to the laws of nature, alcohol goes into the blood and the unborn baby is connected to the same blood. I hate when lawyers try to rewrite laws of nature.

The article isn’t suggesting that its ok for women to drink alcohol while pregnant, just that increasing the punishment hasn’t resulted in fewer cases of fetal alcohol syndrome…essentially. I only schemed through it, but it seemed to be that women who suspect they may be pregnant are not seeking medical immediately because it means they have to cut out all their bad habits. So if they can claim they didn’t know, they can’t be held responsible.

In some respects, I agree. You can’t stop a s~~~ty mom from being a s~~~ty mom. Where do you draw the line of ‘you should have known you were pregnant?’ Within 2 weeks after having sex? I don’t know.

The biggest issue I have as the tremendous expectation that the government, and thus the people, and most importantly men, are expect to fund your mistakes. From welfare, to medical care, to education, mom’s bad choices become my burden to bear. That’s socialism. Don’t going telling me I have no say in your behavior and how your children are raised, yet I need to chip in any pay for it.

I don’t think there is any way to win this. I don’t want to be forced to pay for people’s bad choices, I don’t want government control over people’s choices, nor do I want to see innocent people suffer from people’s bad choices. You can’t have all three.

    Ok. Then do it.

This would then create an issue of legality in abortion. In one law you are protecting a life and in another, you are saying it is not a life.

So, for some the answer is obvious, no do not protect the tissue inside this women, and for others, it is obvious that protecting life is needed.

why protect what can be aborted up to and including birth?

You see the issue here? If you pass laws about pregnant women drinking and doing drugs then you must negate abortion laws too.

So you have to decide are you pro-life or pro-choice? Even those terms are misleading. However, the point is still valid you must first identify whether it is a life you want to protect or just some random collection of cells no one should give a s~~~ about.
