This is something I’ve noticed.

The attitude is she DESERVES your hard earned money.

My brother also got divorce raped and lost a HUGE chunk of his pension including all savings and his house.

So, she’s been abroad about 7 times in the last year, living it up on her ill gotten gains she achieved because the court said so, and she only wants what she’s ENTITLED to, her words.

Now she’s in Rome with a bunch of other hive bitches.

She posts “yeay I’m here and finally off on a shopping spree, my favourite thing to do”

WHY does she deserve it?

She STOLE that f~~~ing money, my brother’s money and his old age security.

Now if she’d worked hard all her life and this was a special treat, but NO.

That money is stolen from a man, and all these vacations and shopping sprees she DESERVES because the state and everyone else says so.

Meanwhile my brother can’t afford to exist.

The argument goes that the lower wage earner (wife) is deserving of half the assets because they either (a) makes sacrifices in career for the marriage or (b) contributed to the success of the higher wage earner (husband). The original reason was that (c) the wife was not equipped to provide for herself, and she missed her opportunity to latch on to a better/different provider already.

I don’t see how (c) could possibly fly in an age of even the illusion of equality. As for (a) and (c) they never test to see if that condition could possibly be true. For my case, which admittedly is not as bad as many many others, my ex was a teacher. In other word, her salary was not merit based, but based on longevity, and she couldn’t even really be fired for doing a s~~~ty job. There is no way it can be considered she made a career sacrifice for the marriage.

On the other side, I turned down a high paying job requiring travel while engaged. While married, I only had cost of living and one small raise. After marriage, I’m making significantly more money. There is nothing remotely suggesting that marriage was nothing but a drag on my career.

I brought a few assets into the relationship. A condo, a car, some savings, and decent retirement funds. She brought in credit card debt, a leased vehicle with a balloon payment and teacher retirement.

There is no universe where splitting the assets 50/50 can be logically justified.

Ok. Then do it.

People who post this type of s~~~ on social media are compensating for their miserable life. They need constant validation and approval from everyone. Well, you see Narwhal, when you married it was a partnership, 50/50. Sharing everything, good times and bad, sickness and health, til death do you part. That’s the contract you signed up front. So, now that you drove her into the arms of another man, she’s entitled to her 50% that you promised her.
