I was sitting at lunch today with some coworkers, and we started discussing the possibility of running an office fantasy football pool. I said I didn’t do that anymore because I never cared to put in the time and research to manage it correctly. Then I just had to follow up with,

“Besides, if I wanted to throw money away, I could always just get married.”

Though to be fair, you actually can win money playing fantasy football.

No way, if anyone cares to follow up I was just making a comment on the high cost of wedding ceremonies these days. I was even advocating against office gambling.

Edit: As an additional point on my job security, I have said on many occasions now to my direct supervisor that I want to automate my job, his job, and the jobs of all the other people we work with, so none of us have anything to do at work. I have been succesful enough in the past he is afraid of doing anything that would give me too much free time to prove I can do it.
