…if you give a damn about what others think of you.

Choosing to live your life in defiance of your parents, your peers, your society, your nation, etc., is an act of bravery.

There’s certain kinds of annoying people that are shocked or offended when a man will not conform to their ideas about what men should do with their lives. Seeing a man living by himself, for himself, worries them. In their minds, if a man is not married and making babies, a member of a prominent organization, engaged in some kind of steady employment, and spending a lot of money on material goods for his household, he’s living his life the wrong way. These annoying folks take it upon themselves to shame people into conforming to a homogeneous society so they can feel comfortable.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

You can’t homogenize milk after it’s already gone sour! Let them drink lumpy sour milk and call it homogenized!

I get my milk of life fresh and warm straight off the MGTOW tit!

    There’s no shame in that!

When I first unplugged it felt like I was forever engaged in justifying my actions to these kinds of people. I thought that with reason and sense I could convince them. Wrong.

Later on, these people have either disappeared from my life, or they seem to have accepted me. They know that one iota of their bulls~~~ will result in my disappearance or ignoring them. I can easily let it be known that I find their attempt to scorn, shame, manipulate me totally revolting. My acquaintances are few but as an introvert I like that.

Shaming is only effective when you care about that person’s opinion.

I have found the more impervious I am to shaming, the more the shamer wants to be around me.
By virtue of being so confident they can’t effect you they are drawn to you. It was their fears and insecurities that made them act like that in the first place. They start wanting you to give them advice and guidance. Best to walk away as far as you can get.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

    Sounds like my entire life.
