“John Williams’ Shadow Government Statistics” is an electronic service that exposes and analyzes flaws in current U.S. government economic data and reporting, as well as in certain private-sector numbers, and provides an assessment of underlying economic and financial conditions, net of financial-market and political hype.

This is an excellent resource. Thanks for posting.

Only the gullible believe official government economic numbers. Only the maliciously deceitful promote them.

It is valid to question the govt official unemployment figure of 5% when 93 million adults are out of work. A little back-of-the-envelope math reveals 93M divided by 300M is quite a bit larger than .05!

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

I’ve long used it…but mainly so I can have an accurate analysis of the U6 when it comes to job rate.

That said, I’m not always convinced by his numbers.

The best part is all this guy does is use the same numbers the US government used in 1990 and 1980… before they started cooking the books.

For example: In 1990 the government stopped counting food and fuel in the inflation index… How can you measure inflation without counting food and fuel??!

With real inflation around 7-9%, savers are all getting f~~~ed if they’re in the “do-what-your-told” asset classes: (single-family house, 401k, savings account).

With the Fed manipulating the rates down, it’s no wonder gold is surging and bitcoin is up 100% in the past year. They pushed rates down for 8 years and the market is correcting itself.

It’s fascinating to watch. The market is more powerful than any central institution. It’s a wild untamable beast.

Not my property... Not my problem
