What’s your experience with sex in marriage? 3 times a week? Once a month? Never?

Maybe I had an unusual situation – she wanted it very often – more than 3x a week. Being 22 years older than her – I couldn’t keep up. But most men I’ve spoken with tell me the sex declines sharply and quickly after marrying.

And you would be right.

The last I heard (and I can’t find the source) a “sexless” marriage is when the couple has sex less than 10 times a year and that’s 70% of marriages, but don’t quote me.

I saw it in a TV show too “70% of marriages are sexless. The other things are so much more important.”

Searches for “sexless marriage” are 3 1/2 times more common than “unhappy marriage” and eight times more common than “loveless marriage.”

I’ve cohabitated with five women in my life, each for long periods of time. And yes, once you commit and move in together the sex reduces to a maximum of bland sex once a month. And the longer you live together the worse it gets. And this happens no matter how hot, steamy, kinky and frequent the sex was before living together.

The good sex is merely a way for them to get you to commit.

I think this is one of those case where ‘average’ is a very misleading statistic. It’s kind of like asking how many football games you watch during the week. For me, it would be around .5 maybe. That doesn’t mean I watch a half game every week, it means I watch 2-3 every weekend during football season, and none in the offseason.

Same goes for marriage, it changes a lot based on the circumstances. I’d say the 4 things that kill a married sex life are:

– Commitment
– Kids
– Career (usually hers)
– Complacency (he stops bothering to ask)

The 3 things that rev it up are:
– No commitment yet.
– hormones (for example, she’s in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy0
– Her mid life crisis (she’s realized you aren’t pursuing her anymore, she’s getting older, so she decides they need to have more sex)

The problem with the ‘rev ups’ are they are all temporary. She’ll eventually move on with out commitment. The pregnancy will end. Mid life crisis is the stage right before she decides she needs a new dick.

Even if you can’t get the milk for free, there is no point in buying the cow.

Before I got married to my future ex-wife, I got sex about 3 to 4 times a week. We didn’t move in together until after getting married. After getting married but still within the first year, I got sex twice a week. It slowly became less frequent as time went on. By the end I was lucky to get it once a month.

Some women won’t make their whines verbal but act them. My now X wanted sex every night. Because she refused to work and stayed home all day not contributing I got sexually turned off. I began to feel that the sex was only being used as an equalizer…you know like ‘I did my share, now we are even’. So, by turning her down I made her feel like I had the upper hand. She had a nice butt, legs and breasts…pretty two, but she was too much work. After I divorce her, I went on some dates. The women expected me to initiate but I would not. It would drive them crazy. They confused my lack of sexual desire as control and it really increased their desire for me. Thank God my sex drive has lessened. Now I can focus on other more interesting things. From being a pussy beggar to being begged for dick. Sexual control can be the best aphrodisiac for women.

From my experience, even out of marriage, sex greatly decreases after 2 years of relationship (in my case it was a bit better cus it was at a distance, so the time I spent with her was mostly sex).

My limited first hand experiences…I was ONLY married ONCE.
My wife was from a different country and culture
She ONLY wanted Sex once per week at the maximum and would frequently try to use
Sex as a Tool for Control. Cutting me off when I wouldn’t do what she wanted and “rewarding” me with a little when I did.
It finally got to the point where she made an ultimatum (do XYZ or I will never sleep with you again) and I just laughed in her face and walked away.
When the frequency of sex dwindles to a trickle such ultimatums are meaningless….

My Ex Wife was from Taiwan. Very different culture; lots of misunderstandings.
