Hi I was wondering if anyone read this, and what you thought of it.

I read a synopsis (Because I don’t have it yet_ and basically the woman comes the conclusion that men really deal with tons of rejection on their everyday life and in general a man’s life is not easy and most women have no idea.)

I know this book may have very limited usefulness here, for those who don’t talk to any females at all in more than the most cursory speech, it wouldn’t have any usefulness at all. But some of you have mothers, sisters, and friends who are women. Since it is written by a woman from a woman’s perspective of being thought of as a man (not merely being like a man, but actually appearing to be a man.) it might help those few females who you are friendly with to understand and appreciate you a bit better (if that even matters.) It probably would not do any good to 50% of women, who solipsistically are unable to have any real empathy except for maybe their younger children and other women that are like themselves. It probably wouldn’t do anything to sway a hardcore feminist, because they have shown they only want to destroy any aspect of men that cannot be used for their own agenda. and so this would not be of much use to them.

This book may or may not even be for the women who you talk to. I haven’t read it yet. It could be a hamster who manages to get a few sentences right. So has anyone read this?

I have heard very good things about it but haven’t read it. What I’ve heard is good enough that I am actively planning to get it from my library in the near future.

just read a few excerpts on amazon; i’m not too sure what to make of it, there is a lot of “i’m appalled” crap and followed by “BUHTTTT,” followed by “i kinda understand, but not really” followed by, “i pitty men”

Just from what i’ve read, i get the feeling that she is just forcing herself to seem open minded, but not really.

It does seem like it could be interesting; but i wouldn’t expect a happy ending where the author actually gets it.

Did she get the female genital mutilation equivalent of of a circumcision? Did she go to war? Did she fix a toilet? Did she get her kids ripped away from her? Did she have her wages garnished so her ex wife doesn’t lose her “standard of living”?

No, she went to a strip club…

Looks pretty effiminate even with make up and suit. The wide hips and facial features and hands just gives it away.
Looks more like some sort of caricature than a man.

So…pretty light experiences without much depth for understanding; but “Butch” learns that she isn’t a Man, and that the ideal man is NOT a woman in a Man’s body. And she realizes that women have no clue as to what it is like to be a Man.

And for all of her attempts at being macho…and very Butch…she realizes that she is a fraud in costume and she gets depressed as it just starts to hit home.

I watched it and thought it might be great,

Roydal let me know if you get it and what you think.

Here last words on the video…

sic… “I like being a woman more now than before my stint as a man because it is more of a privelege”

It is true that she didn’t go through the most daunting things a man can go through… divorce, lost custody, war etc… but I think she went through enough of what a typical young american single male would, and since she speaks as a woman, maybe women will listen, but I know, not all of them.

This came up a few months ago. From her Wikipedia page:

Suffering from depression after her eighteen months living disguised as a man, she felt she was a danger to herself. On the advice of her psychologist she committed herself to a mental institution.

Trying to deal with the pressures of being a man in modern society drove this woman into an institution.

    ’nuff said.

They have no frigging clue of how it’s like to be a man. Absolutely nothing. They think we have ‘privilege’, and never see the hard work to get there. They get extra-points on their curricula ea because they have an extra hole between their legs. And they wonder why they’ll never rise to our stature as men. It’s not institutional discrimination, it’s biology,…
