Anonymous7Hello brothers,
I was wondering how you guys handle self improving. Im currently 18 on a month in a half long break and I read everyday and mess around with some music tutorials. My job is only active during the school year.
I find myself spending the day just playing games or watching movies sometimes and I resent it to a certain degree as just a waste of time even though I enjoy it.
Have you guys had any experiences like these in life?Deep meditation, and I’m not alone in this; the US Marines are doing it too.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
Anonymous5For bettering ones self I always find making sure to do something productive on your weekends. Don’t go down the drug path. Seen it ruin a many. Keep reading and studying! (As lame as it sounds, but sounds like your on the right path brother)
What an opportunity-
-find something that interests you
-when I was younger, I swept the floor at the Harley dealer and they showed me how to do tune ups and do simple repairs
-one summer I volunteered at the hospital and got to meet some interesting people
-one summer a buddy and I hitched to Daytona Beach and found odd jobs to support us for the summer.
-one summer I took some programming classes at the community classes.
You have an awesome opportunity to have some fun. (I wish I could do something like that now)yeah dude, you have the one thing that matters most , OPTIONS.
all of the above suggestions from prefer peace are spot on
road trips are always awesome experiences..go cross country if possible..
martial arts classes, painting, drawing classes are often cheap and enriching..
volunteer work is a chance to get inside places you’ve never been..hospitals,ambulances,etc.
got a few bucks ? learn to scuba dive,sky-dive,
get a job on a cruise ship ! lots of stuff to encounter ..
the list could go on a long way.. enjoy !I read books during the dull moments of my life (standing in line at the supermarket/bank; doing laundry at the laundromat). I like to read about people who have overcome hardships. Chris Gardner (The Pursuit of Happyness) inspires me. I try to read at least one book each month.
"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
I realized I wasted so much time doing that also. Such as playing games or watching anime. I still do those things, but more on a limited basis now.
What I’m training myself to do when I’m bored is to learn a new programming language such as PHP or Python.
I’m also taking up mathematics as a hobby.

Have you guys had any experiences like these in life?Let me just tell you something I heard from a man that I have admired since I was a kid. George Carlin once said something like this and it has stuck with me forever.
“Show me a kid sitting at home smoking weed and playing video games, and I will show you someone who is not out there f~~~ing it up for the rest of us.”
What he is saying is that if you are not harming anyone, or stepping over people to get ahead or whatever, what does it really matter? Look, you will have regrets no matter what you do. I would listen to old George and do what makes you happy, so that you will have at least had a good time on your way towards them.

Hahahahaha! S~~~, have fun, dude! If it bugs you getting too little done, do something, but don’t feel guilty about it. I wish I was 18 and had a month and a half off!
If you have a few bucks you won’t miss, take a road trip! See some territory. You’ll never regret it.
Take ski lessons. Hit some museums. Take an immersive course in Klingon."I am is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that I do is the longest sentence?" - George Carlin
