So, according to this article, science says women aren’t interested in flashy men. But if you read the article, this isn’t really true.
For the science, women were asked to rate the attractiveness and relationship potential of two men purchasing cars. One guy buying a practical new car, the other buying a used car and spending the rest of his money on wheels, paint, and sound system.
The women, shockingly, rate the flashy man as being suitable for a brief sexual fling but the guy buying the practical car scored higher as a potential life partner. The research corroborates with another recent study where women chose men with “masculine” features for a sex partner but opt for a guy with a more “feminine” face for a long-term commitment.
I guess the only exception I take to this article is in the headline. Women are definitely “INTERESTED” in flashy men. They are much more willing to give the sex away to a guy that is more into himself than her. She wants to spend her early years being a slut, and then settle for the nice guy when she wants maximum resource extraction. When women say they aren’t interested in these men they mean interested in settling down with such men. The reason being they can’t control these men. Even though it is still technically dishonest to say not interested because if they could lock down a flashy guy they would. So basically they are full of s~~~.
I’d say the study is rather flawed. Women aren’t interested in the man with the upgraded used car because he has a hobby. He has showed an aptitude for looking for value as opposed to just following the crowd and doing what’s expected of him. He has shown that he has a destination for his discretionary spending, something she’ll have to compete with. When it comes time to get a ring, that guy isn’t going to go for dollar value, he’s going to the discount dealer if he goes at all. When he’s with her, he’s thinking he’d rather be out on the road, which average car guy is thanking he’s lucky stars that she accepted him as a slave.

New cars lose a lot of vaue at the moment driving away from car lot. If I will ever have a car, it will be some second hand, good looking, almost high-end car. Only 5000 kilometers a year goes to my bicycle for commuting,that is not much for a car and it will still last long. My bike also consists of circa 80% second-hand high-end parts (except tear and wear stuff), not much problems. Quality and well-done parts is more important than flashy new parts that are s~~~ quality and get rusty and used up fast.
