There’s been a lot of school shootings in the USA since the Columbine High School massacre of 1999. I’m wondering if there will ever be a year without a school shooting in the future.
For those of you who don’t live in the USA, I’m curious: Do you also have school shootings? Or is there something unique about my American culture that produces this kind of social sickness?

Not until they are no longer gun-free zones full of disarmed targets that can’t fight back with equal force.
Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.
How come I think this thread is bait for something?

Anonymous12Honestly I think there is something about America that makes this keep happening. I have never been there but I believe drugs are pushed onto kids a lot and I don’t mean recreational ones. I mean anti depressants etc. Guns may play a small part in them being easier to get a hold of but I think even if you waved a magic wand and made guns disappear people would just kill with something else.
The Anti Gun people often cite Australia as an example of good gun laws but given the amount of crime here I wish I could be armed. Also we have had drive by shootings as well since the stricter gun laws have taken place. And sometimes nutters just like to use their cars instead.
Actually looking at this list it’s not great anyway https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_massacres_in_Australia
As I was working around my place today, I’ve heard several of my neighbors target practicing.
To the south east, I heard what sounded like some skeet practice around Noon Hour .. and later in to the west I heard another neighbor for about a half hour.
We have basically no crime around here, none that I can recall except a damaged mailbox several years ago .. and that might have been an accident .. I don’t even lock my doors when I go to town. I just leave my laptop sitting on the table. I know that one of my neighbors didn’t even lock when they went on week long vacation.
Great neighbors, good people .. lots of target practice going on .. very little, if any, crime. Seriously, it’s a nice environment to live in. We all know each other, help each other .. and get along fine. I just received an invitation to hs graduation party for the son of guy doing skeet today .. great sportsman .. very nice family.
We all live in what might be called “the sticks” .. miles from nearest town. We have a Sportsman’s Club just down the road. Great place, lots of events .. and super nice practice range. I can hear the sound of practice sitting on my deck.
So isolated here in the sticks, seems it would be an easy target for crime .. yet, no one ever seems travel this way and bother, steal .. or vandalize anything. I’m not exactly sure why.How come I think this thread is bait for something?
Any political discussion thread is going to be bait of some sort. No matter how you answer, it can be used somewhere. School shootings in America are so common, one gets tricked if you say the shootings will stop, because you have to be able to say why. If you say they won’t stop, see my thread I said that the shootings are now a permanent part of American society, and might as well make the best of it.
The more these shootings going on, the more they undermine the point of guns, which is to keep people safe. People arm with guns to keep themselves safe. If they shootings continue, and not stopped, then there is a problem.

I assume you were talking about me. It is IGMOW, not MGHOW. It is done this way, because it is personal, and used to differentiate from men who collectively go their own way. If MGHOW is someone else, I am sorry for the mix up.
Also, I can be seen as liberal on some things, and not liberal on others. I just don’t march lockstep with the thoughts of the MGTOWsphere, and feel it is better off if there were a wider range of thoughts. My views are one to end up being able to survive in an increasingly progressive/globalist worldview, while having a set of classic views. I am a decentralist, believing any uniformity and forced compliance is counterproductive. I find a ton of what is discussed in this space to be a blasted waste of time, particularly the belief that someone a single man (Trump or whatever) can end up fixing everything, if you are just loyal enough.
What I am NOT is a Social Justice Warrior, a Feminist, or any sort of Bernie Bros. Only place I may have some overlap on the liberal side, would be to have some semblance of a social safety net, and not undermine it. But the whole idea that cultural marxists can make all equal, and somehow cry out privilege, is really annoying and absurd.
As I get older, the closer I get to beyond anarchist in views. I am actually more of a cryptopunkist now, and a belief in systems being decentralized in control and distributed in how data and resources flows, rather than consolidated.
If I were GOP, I would be in the Never Trump camp, but I am registered Independent I believe, so that doesn’t fit.

Wrong, as you say in your next sentence, “People arm with guns to keep themselves safe.” schools are prevented by law from doing therefore they cannot keep people safe so they become an easy target, QED the continuing prevalence of school shootings, at this point said shootings will continue until either suitably qualified staff are permitted to carry arms and therefore protect themselves and their students or the rest of a country of 350 million many of whom were born with a gun in their hands are disarmed and therefore made as vulnerable as the schools in favour of criminals and nutjobs who don’t give a damn for the law in the first place.
I’ve said in other threads on this topic, let Europe be your guide for what awaits you if the latter goes through, only the criminals will have guns, and if they can’t get guns, they’ll use knives, acid, vehicles anything they can lay their hands on that will serve as a weapon. And the disarmed masses who believe the law provides anything more than consequences (and god knows it doen’t exactly do that anymore) will be little more than sheep for the slaughter.
I just want to know if my fellow international MGTOWs experience school shootings too. I have no agenda to abolish someone’s Constitutional right to own a weapon.

Mass shootings have actually been declining in America since the Columbine attack.
Before Columbine a lot of rural schools still let kids keep guns in their cars/trucks.The only thing that has increased is the liberal use of SSRAs, intended for adults, to be used on children.
The media has been hyping and glorifying shooters in every case, which is also causing more shootings.
By the way, an average of 6,500 violent crimes PER DAY are stopped or prevented by the use of legally-owned firearms in the United States.
Funny that you never hear about those on the news.
Yes, the rest of the industrialized world has been disarmed for at least one generation. The US is also a unique nation.
The average person in other countries believes. “What do I need a gun for?”
I’m not some american cowboy. The US is also like a liberty insurance policy holder. If another regional tyrant goes above his station.Average people from other countries believe. American cowboys with guns will show up and rescue them from the tyrants.
These shootings will continue. It’s an american issue.

It was an objective post simply seeking more understanding. I get it. I find it interesting myself, there are other nations that also have gun ownership but don’t have the gun violence on America’s level. So I would say there is something about American culture that is sparking these incidents.
I also read a while back that under Obama shootings went up which causes me to think red flag exercises.
Much rarer in Canada but it has happened…

Anonymous42Makes a damn good argument for home schooling! Everything must return to personal responsibility or else the insanity will continue and worsen until society is one massive monoblob of endless and eternal s~~~!
Until that happens, I’ll be outside smoking a joint and associating with others that made the right choice to step outside the burning house!
Oh, I’m sorry, did I say joint? I meant vape, dabs, shatter, and butter, smoking pot is old fashioned!
Here, have a few gummy bears!

And we have a country like Mexico that actually has more gun control than the U.S. but more gun violence than the U.S.
Gun violence is a cultural problem, not an ‘access to guns’ problem. Until the ‘tards figure this out the body count will continue to grow…
Anonymous42And we have a country like Mexico that actually has more gun control than the U.S. but more gun violence than the U.S.
But wasn’t it Obama that initiated Cash for Clunkers about the same time he initiated guns for Mexican Druglords? And wasn’t it those guns that came back to kill the US Border Patrol agents?
Yep, I think if you look back in the history of Australia and uk. Their ban on firearms came about through similar circumstances. Now uk has a murder problem with knife killings. It doesn’t matter, those who want to commit the crime will always find away. Norway had mass killing in 2011 and they have gun laws that still allow sportsmen to use. But heavly regulated by the state.
The problem is the War against boy’s in our education system. The feminist have turned normal boy activity into anger and frustration on today’s boy’s . Then you throw in all the psycho chemicals and you have mass shootings. My opinion is they are acting out in the only way they think they can be heard.Honestly I think there is something about America that makes this keep happening.
Once again, the Supreme Court of the United States in 1975, in the O’Connor vs Donaldson case ruled that a mentally ill person cannot be institutionalized against their will. It takes more that just a family or relatives to get them treatment or institutionalized without a lot of time and effort. We did not have these incidents when I was young, even though we had the 2nd Amendment and considerable gun ownership.
Recently the same Supreme Court ruled that panhandlers cannot be removed or arrested, so now they are all over the landscape.
